Heyco - EOG Takeover ?17 May 2025 16:55
Here's one to get your teeth into Unsophisticated .. 2 years ago today, Egdon Resources (primary asset = 30% of Wressle - same as EOG) was snapped up by Heyco Energy Group for £26.6 million. Personally, I'm invested in EOG for the potential of Ireland / Equatorial Guinea farmouts (each would put a rocket under the current low share price, multibags). However, if all else fails - and possibly before any farmouts - there is a strong business case for Heyco making a move for EOG, with shared assets. Perhaps they are biding their time, waiting for the green light at Cloughton and Wressle developments (both imminent) ? George Yates (Heyco CEO) is still very much 'on the scene' and certainly has the firepower to acquire more UK assets - he spoke very well at the Lincolnshire Energy conference in February. Richard Tice (Reform UK) was also in attendance. If Heyco were to make a move in the next few weeks, then things could get very interesting .. one to watch.
