Well done CHAT - Claire Coutinho is a rising star, very close to Rishi Sunak and tipped as a future Chancellor. She certainly appears to ‘get’ the damage being done to the UK oil and gas industry by the windfall tax (75%). A number of Tory ministers were strongly against Jeremy Hunt’s increase and extension of the WFT at the last budget .. she was one of them.
I'm surprised you've not suggested HEYCO are driving the share price lower yet Hydras .. prior to making a bid ? Wasn't that the thoery with UJO a few weeks back, before the share price improved and you disappeared ? ;-) As for the company folding .. FFS, get real - millions ££'s flowing in from Wressle (30%) and will be for a long time. Like most shareholders, I do agree this 'quiet' period IS frustrating .. but fast forward 6 months and we could see a VERY different outlook for EOG with Equatorial Guinea and Inneskia both in the mix for a farm out. If just ONE of those projects comes in, expect the SP to be multiples of today's low value .. EG looks the more likely at this stage imo.
Good point Kawasaki .. I think the only hope if Labour gains power is with the Unions - they are already putting pressure on Starmer / Miliband etc. to ‘get real’ and reverse or at least temper some of their anti-oil & gas policies. Particularly in respect of job losses, Aberdeen, energy security - I’m not sure it’ll make a difference, but the Unions are up for a fight, there’s a lot of politics at play.
.. plus there's always a chance Heyco will take us out at these ridiculously low levels. 70% of Wressle, increase their % on other shared assets and new U.S. operations in the Permian Basin - an area they know very well. May 17th 2023, they made a move for Egdon .. I wonder if we'll see an approach in the next few weeks ? Fingers crossed.
.. and if there's any wiff of fracking being back on the agenda pre. general election - prepare for lift off. Several MPs / prominent political journalists are starting to ask serious questions of government re. the UK's future energy security (or lack of).
Reform UK will be getting my vote .. if the Tories had any sense they’d do a deal with Tice / Farage - it’s the only way they’ll keep Labour out, if the polls are to be believed. The ‘price’ of any such deal would include Reform seats round the cabinet table & concessions on policies. Immigration would be top .. but oil / gas / fracking is VERY high on Reform’s agenda. Here’s hoping, would be excellent news for Star Energy and other UK based O&G companies.
Heid .. the other thing to note with the 'super deduction investment allowance' is that Labour are proposing to SCRAP it (and increase the windfall tax to 78%). This makes it all the more imperative to progress any major UK development / drilling / works operations this calender year (2024). Surely David and the partners at Wressle / West Newton realise this ? Get on with it ASAP !
CEO Stuart Last tweeted the ‘4th spot’ good news after the bell - may get an RNS tomorrow / Monday.
DB won't have a choice if Heyco come in with a 40p + offer, it'll get my vote - and I suspect a majority of shareholders. The way things are going right now that's probably the best solution all round. Pull your finger out David, time to reward LT shareholders with a special dividend or start a steady stream of buybacks .. personally, I'd prefer the latter (see Jan-June '23), drive the share price back to 30p+
Likewise, added another 25k this morning - spread getting tighter .. bargain, still below 8p. Will we get an RNS / TR1 today or tomorrow relating to Friday's big sell ?
Thanks AP, been watching this one closely for a while - took my first 100,000 yesterday. Loaded another 275,000 this morning after the large sell. Hope that’s 100% out for Sandgrove, if so I agree - share price free to move quickly now. All the best ..
Agree VernetLes - I've topped up this morning .. but that pesky big seller is still offloading ! Been at it for weeks, hopefully nearly done now ? Like you, I think we'll move up pretty sharpish thereafter .. looking forward to the EOG presentation next week.
Excellent, maybe you could set up an interview with David Bramhill at some point ? Or a more detailed look at each asset - history / future ? Beacon doesn't seem to get much of a mention these days, but flow rates / news due in next 3-4 weeks. Look forward to further updates on the blog .. beats all the bickering on here, which is rather off-putting to potential new investors.
I managed to buy 5,000 earlier @ 2.18 .. seemed to kick off a few buys thereafter. Steady rise as a result. Not part of any 'Twitter group' myself, BOOM just looks very good value at this level. Long term hold for me, I was impressed with the last update, hopefully 2024 is as good as predicted. Good luck all holders.
Let's hope so DaProphet - could be quite a month for Beacon and SYN, if all goes well. Hofmeister and Cobra lager chilling in my fridge ;-) GLA.
Nice one JPP, this is the same information and slides that Roland used for the 'Investor Meet Company' presentation in October 2023 .. which also incorporated a live Q & A at the end. It's well worth a read / watch .. and I agree, the figures / potential for Cambay are mindblowing.

Scarlet .. long term shareholders will know - it HAS taken months / years, but we're nearly there - hence the excitement. Oh, and did you not see the flagship announcement from Prime Minister Modi at India Energy Week a couple of days ago ? 'India is looking to increase natural gas usage from 6% to 15%' - to assit this goal, approx. $67 billion will be invested over the next 5-6 years.' India, the world's fastest growing major economy / energy market.
SYN is excellently positioned to provide GAS .. not to mention a CCS solution at Cambay - DYOR .. Roland is highly respected and well connected, I trust him to deliver.

Article today from Upstream ..
'India plans to invest at least $67 billion in the next five to six years, aimed at boosting the domestic natural gas sector, according to the nation’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi said. Speaking at the India Energy Week (IEW) conference in Goa on Tuesday, Modi confirmed that huge investments for the nation’s natural gas sector have been lined up 'for the next five to six years' to double the share of gas in India's energy mix from the current 6% to almost 15%. We are continuously scaling energy capacity in the country, with greater focus on the natural gas sector,” he noted.
Perfect timing .. come on Roland, let's get that deal over the line.

Bang on .. 'The JV documentation is still a couple of days from completion. We will RNS as soon as it’s been executed' - @synergiaenergy - tweet just now.
Joe Biden pausing all new LNG export licences from the U.S. .. will also help focus the mind. Energy security is key - 'home grown' sources of energy, invaluable.
