Of course it's very difficult to predict but my judgement is that either a Yes vote puts the nail in the coffin at 28p or a no vote might produce a bit of a panic sell off in the time between that vote and the Chinese returning with an offer perhaps in the order of 15-20% higher. I am basically playing the probability of that scenario by pulling out fully today.

We can see who is picking them up and if they aren't acting on behalf of Jiangxi then they are buying them to vote the bid down. Otherwise why have they paid 28p for stock that will be "certain" to be sold at 28p?

Day 53 is the last practical day a counter can be posted. Depending on whether you count your dates inclusively or exclusively that is either Sunday or Monday.

If there's nothing on Monday then I view that as terminal for a counterbid and will be taking my last remaining slice off the table. In the very unlikely event that a NO vote gets the nod then I would expect a significant retrace as uncertainty hits and toys are thrown out of corporate prams crashing the price quite hard.

That is only my view, of course it is not inconceivable that a NO leads to increased speculation that a better bid will follow, likely from the Chinks but my reading is as above. Sh*t or bust Monday
