Amazing with all the positives that mining investment would bring to a third world sh** hole like Ecuador, that the people would take any notice whatsoever of the TCL's in their sandals. The country needs to get a move on and stop giving Oxygen to those who seek to hold back progress to support their nutty ideologies.

I didn't roll out of bed until almost 10am by which time 31 had been and gone. But all day the book was very weak almost 1:2 bid to ask depth. I am surprised in the end that 30p was held, but feels like it wants to sit around there for now.

Exactly! I don't think DrQu understands what the 28 day period means. It is a deadline for Jiangxi to put up or shut up, not for anybody else to. They are then out of the game for 6 months is they don't, but nobody else is.

Even if they put an offer that the board recommends to shareholders, there is a statutory period for any vote on accepting that offer, during which of course another suitor can put forward an alternative proposal.

You've been reading far too many comics. So what if the Chinks drop a bid just before their month is up? Does that change anything at all in how the other potential suitors can respond? of course not. It's not signed, sealed, agreed and passed on Boxing Day you absolute muppet.

I see the Chinks coming back much sooner with a more sensible attempt to secure a full sale, but they will be mindful it can and probably will run away from them now. Their underhand tactics of shorting the stock, scooping a cheap majority stake and thinking that gave them the right to acquire the business for a song has been masterfully rebuffed by the board.

They now look weak and stupid and must act swiftly and decisively to recover their reputation.

Case in point. They call it confirmation bias.
