OK, so we got not 1 but 3 RNS so far on Monday, not one of them was enough to make my pulse do so much as flutter let alone race.

just for anyone interested I can confirm that I have been unable to buy any shares here below 1.6p today.
If they are heading to 1.2 I don't think they are getting there just yet.

that is the kid of rumour that will bring a share price down a bit.
at 1.2 I am interested in topping up.

A weekend with no abuse to the liver. I would sign up to the going dry in October but if BPC drop an RNS I may have bubbles that need to be consumed. It would be rude not to celebrate after all the years of waiting.

3 big trades by BPC standards of late going through Friday afternoon and this morning.

I called that one very very wrong. About 2 weeks ago I thought CLON was a basket case with too many things not working for it in terms of SP. 2 days after my original post I pointed out I had been wrong here. I think it is about 3x where it was when I called it.

On that basis alone I am now going to state that BPC is a basket case, if that does not bring the big RNS nothing will.

that I why I was prepared to offer up my tonsils or my appendix.
I don't need either.
Technically I could offer up my gentleman plums as well but I am more reluctant to let them go.
I am not sure my liver would be much of an upgrade, it would only be a trade item and very much sold as seen for scrap purposes only.

Molokai: Dealer1974, snap! I was in RKH too back then. Only 97m shares in float as I recall. 19p was my average and When they struck it took a few days to go from 20p to £3. Crazy days indeed! I was long gone when the PMO sale went through...

if we take the complications on dilution and relative SP or market cap out of the equation the RKH progress was 15x SP in a matter of days.
I would give your left arm for 15x rerate here, still only 30p.
I would give your right am for the full RKH 30+x rise, still only 60p.
I would give up my own tonsils for 87p...

Tiburn: Pi - great posts - so if you had to put a number on SP for 3 billion found, what would you say, off the record!

off the record I would say greater than 2p.

also a gambler, want to be in till the end but reserve he right to chicken out at or above 20p for 5m shares. Gut feel is that we will be taken out before we see full production. If I didn't think that I would keep the shares indefinitely and move them to a trust for the grandkids.

fingers crossed SP has spent his time and money well in the Bahamas and knows which hole to put the drill in (geology reference, golf reference or people reference....)

as for being born again, if that is a real thing then next time I am coming back as a domestic cat. I would have said sloth but not before they are domesticated - I want my meals served to me.

That said....if we find commercial oil I think BPC will be swallowed up long before production sadly.

I would worry that if I put a price to it where I did the number crunching I would be accused of ramping the share even by people who hold a similar positive view.

I try to hold back, but if (really big IF) we hit mid estimate 10bn BOO with a margin of £3.
even after the % cut to the govt and through farm in or placing the numbers are staggering.
Knowing how close we are to the start of that potential journey after all the years in the wilderness here excites me.
Sure it could miss the target, it could find nothing of commercial interest but once that drill starts turning the expectation will be massive.

if you take the politics and the share prices out of the equation Rockhopper and BPC are both very good looking in terms of geology.
I don't know if you landed on them through research, advice or luck but I think both in time will deliver positive oil finds.
Rockhopper will be more technically and geographically challenging than BPC (IMHO)


BPC at 200k shares -
2p = £4k.
0.2p = £400.
20p = £40k.
not many people out there would view £40k of shares as 'small fry'
downside vs upside on a factor of 10.

find oil on any deal and 20p is very possible.

If BPC retains an interest through to commercial production who knows where we go. I have previously posted calcs for a scenario taking us all the way to production and BPC as a tier 1 oiler. imagine a world where we retain 20% interest in a productive field delivering 200k bpd.
if we go alone and the first well is a duster you may as well call it zero as funding for a second well will be hard to find.
FWIW there are several posters on this BB who stand to become BPC millionaires, many at a SP below 20p. There is a risk that we talk up our own position as we want the share to play out positively and this could be a once in a lifetime opportunity.
There is a big gap between those of us who give a positive view and those who rock up late and spout share prices of £££.

for all of specilists faults the concept behind selling some at the start of this week was sound. At 2p the argument is harder.
Drill with farm in is the preferred option strategically as it shares some of the risks and allows for a multiple drill campaign. Going alone is more of a higher risk / higher reward play.
If in both scenarios you assume we hit good oil on drill 1 then stand alone is higher retained share at the expense of massive initial dilution through share placing.
Whereas farm in is lower share of the oil - deferred dilution in effect.
The terms of the farm in need to be known against the scale of the dilution to give a reasoned opinion on the right way to play BPC. 5% retained vs 2x shares in issue looks very different to 30% retained against existing shares in issue. Does any farm in consider cash up front to cover back costs to BPC as part of an agreement, if so what does the board use the additional cash for?

Sorry, not much help with answers, just trying to ensure you ask lots of questions in your scenario models.
