I have a feeling the vaccine news will be countered by the dosney news. I think that disney will go down a similar route as WB have done.
The only counter towards this would be on how well/ badly mulan did on their streaming service. They already released that they will be putting more money into their streaming content. I just pray that I'm wrong, and they actually release some kind news towards cinema chains.
Sure, post us your number.
All this BS aside, we are doing well today. 65p crossed, next stop 70p tomorrow.
Surpsied you havnt jumped on the news about the 2 nhs staff that had an allergic reaction from the vaccine.
Too busy repeating nonsense to actually realise newer more related news is out.
1.20 deffo possible and I think even 150-180 by 2022! Heres hoping
2.40 is a massive stretch even for the most optimistic amongst us.
I dont think we will be at those levels ever again tbh.
I'm usually wrong though. Ha.
I didnt realise they were releasing WW for FREE on HBO max. What an absolutely insane move. This is going to backfire on them big time.
Lets remember blockbusters gross over 1bl at cinemas, thats 500m for the studios before they sell to stream services or stream themselves.
Imo there is no way in high heavens that streaming will ever make that kind of dosh.
My point is that since netflix was created in 1997, cinema admissions were 78.5m people, compared to 2019 which was 175m people. See a downward trend there? Quite the opposite.
Strike that, over 20 years. God im old.
Netflix has existed for over 10 years. Just so you know.
Aye agree. Weekend off for me, take care everyone, stay safe.
Amc are really struggling. I wonder what will happen if they go bust? Will cineworld SP go up?
Maybe they dont have to last forever, just longer than AMC. It may be a wakeup call to studios.
Cheer up lad, not the end of the world. Yet.
"Warnbrothers have made a huge mistake. A typing error meant that they accidently said 2021. They meant to announce that all 2020 movies will be going straight to PvOD as well as cinema releases. From Jan 2021 all movies will honour the theatrical window".
OK I made that up but wouldn't it be funny.
I'm in. Sod it. We are still above 60p which is great tbh. The WB news hopefully now priced in. Makes no difference really, we are all waiting on covid cases to drop, vaccines to be released and normality to be resumed, that included WB's. I'm pretty sure we will see the 70's again once more vaccines are allowed to be used.
Investoid sold at 72 and rebought at 70. He is still in.
Lets all remember that LSE thought cineworld were buying regal on the 27th November 2020 for 3.6bl. Again.
He is absolutely clueless.
You said that at 63p, its gone up since then.
Lemme guess, dead cat bounce?
We do not know the deal yet.
As I said last night, the only way it will work is if WB agree to let cinemas keep more of the take. They have to keep cinemas sweet for when this idiotic move backfires.
They were getting around 50-60% of the ticket sales before. I think it will be half of that at the most, otherwise cinemas won't show their content (especially mooky).
My mate had a great point last night. With all these streaming services popping up, plus additional charges, soon having a cineworld unlimited card will be cheaper than paying for all the streaming services. Cheaper, better and much more fun!
