The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
Oke - agreed. I think the spit in a pot solution is dead.
And what’s more I think the swab is a neater test.
LITERALLY ALL OF THE Infrastructure is in place plus the manuals plus the staff plus the army plus the samples.
Questions around if the test is same s&s as innova they will struggle to charge more for it...
I hope it is higher AND quicker. Quicker is the key. 10 mins outside a stadium vs 30 minutes etc.
I now want concrete deadlines from Alastair, not ‘soon’
“ In the short term, it is expected that data from clinical assessments that emphasize the sensitivity and specificity of the antigen test will be released before final clinical validation using the final production batch test."
How long? I reckon c 2 weeks.
Zz, unlike you, I am able to entertain both sides.
I note today you are out and bashing away, this morning asking me to ‘lay off’
I’ve been saying al needs to improve comms for weeks.
Anyway, you crack on. Surely you now see me as bashing that’s a positive as you are seeking an entry?
Questions for Alastair:
Are they still aiming for 10k?
Are they still expecting to validate in q4?
What is going on with Abingdon?
What is going on with asia manufacturing?
When you sold your shares at 180p, were you aware of the delays coming down the line and difficulties with saliva?
good post. I disagree with some points, but hej its a BB, good to see others thoughts.
My own feeling is that tech transfer is still not complete, no where near it. I liked the video showing what the kits would be, but if I wanted to avoid saying too much bad news, I would state that testing of "batch prototypes" was the testing going on now, and when tech transfer was complete a much bigger clinical trial would be done. Testing of batches to see if swabs work would be done on prototypes anyway. TT some way off.
Alternative is TT is complete as far as it can, and swabs need to be tested by company first to see if they work. If the do, press the button on production. Then why not say TT is all but complete but we wont spend money on production till we know it works.
If tech transfer was complete, why not say " TT will be complete in Q4".
Im not annoyed at the delay. This is a high risk undertaking with new technology, with a company with little in the way of bring production to market. Risk is large, so is upside, if I wanted safe I would put money in Disney.
More concerned with the obfuscation of details. Bad news may or might not be included in this RNS. The idea of an RNS is to ensure we are all on the same page. 100's of people across a number of companies and government know the status and a good idea of timelines, those people have a trading advantage. RNS is meant to ensure share holder and potential share holder have the same set of facts. This RNS failed in a major way to address that, and was a poor attempt to shore up SP. The share price is not failing big time cos timelines may have changed or we have a new method, it's failing because trust about being informed is has disappeared. Having to second guess what an RNS means, means it wasn't as RNS.
Im gonna hold, I think risk/reward profile on the cancer drugs alone warrant the investment, but I won't be having a cheeky top up, even at these prices. CEO duty is primarily to share holders, and that means all share holders.
Just tell us estimated TT time line, paint is with "may change" statements etc etc. The alternative is company has no idea when it will be complete, and that ain't a good thing.
G man. I’m very happy with it. My point is the nasal swab is the way forward now. Watch the video, telling he speaks of securing swabs etc.
Saliva will be in the background but I’m fine with that, I don’t really see the collection method as that different anyway.
I’d rather swab nose mouth than spit in pot. It’s cleaner and the public have been shown how on live tv.
Next big questions are speed of text and sensitivity.
A far quicker test (10 mins not 30) will be a huge boon.
The test still uses saliva, it’s purely the the collection method.
Disagree, he is clearly going for anterior swab now and will work on saliva in the background.
As have said all along I actually think a swab is less messy. Especially for entry to venues etc.
Do you want to swab your nose/mouth or have the person gobbling in a pot!?
My main hope is the avacta test is far quicker than innova (10 mins) and better s&s
“However, it also says "The performance of the test with clinical samples will now be evaluated as a precursor to a much larger clinical study"
Much larger (I.e. gov) clinical study.
All the infrastructure is there.
The gov is lobbying for innova to get home use status. Clearly coming.
The avacta test has essentially ended up as the innova test, albeit with greater sensitivity I hope.
Alastair is on borrowed time though
Spot on millcait.
I’m happy for them to continue to refine the saliva test.
However we could be 3-4 months ahead of had done this first.
It’s clear the gov is not happy with saliva.
So we basically end up with the innova test (but hopefully far higher s&s)
The time it has taken Alastair to communicate this is woeful. Not to mention his share sale at 180p.
