The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
I have thought about it but decided to tough it out. Copper price action is a shocker, and sod’s law it happens just as the mine appears to be getting into shape, but you have to think that copper will recover.
Need a good production number to drop which I think it is highly likely.
Thanks, good growth strategy presentation in this.
Chilean miners due to be on strike from tomorrow, let’s see what effect that has - could be a reason behind the small uptick we’ve seen today.
Had the same thought exactly Aubrey so I'll go 651!
Should be gone in about 2-3 weeks is my guess, and if not definitely after a positive June production report. This is based on estimating they have about 1.5% now, ie £600K and shifting about £50K per day. Very approx obviously.
Quote in Telegraph from World Economic Forum in Davos:
Daniel Yergin, energy guru at IHS Markit, said the mystery is where the world will find the copper for so much electrification. “Electric vehicles need two-and-half to three times as much copper as a combustion engine car. There is a gap. How is it going to be closed?” he said.
Short term maybe volatile with China lockdown etc but medium to longer term looking good for copper price.
All the best Cornish. I have some Cornish Metals shares and a few good days so far following the Finance raise. Up 10% today - must be recruiting a good team!
If you do give Moon a job, please don't publicise it!
And as you said, need to see some form of plan to indicate that they do intend pushing the project forward, over and above posting the bleeding obvious on twitter. I think they are just hoping to attract a buyer which might be the best outcome for us.
Does that mean we get an update?
The value of the awards is not big and I would guess that it represents only a proportion of what would have been issued if all targets were met. I'm sure the Board will have a number of objectives, both financial and related to the turnaround where good progress has been made.
Having shares as bonuses and these being deferred is a good retention tool in addition to incentivising performance.
Anyway, a drop in the ocean. Looks like we still have a major seller in play and look forward to a shift up in volume when we get the May results and the China lockdown eases - at about the same time!
I'm no expert but with the crusher(s) working, the mill is currently the limiting constraint for output. The company is mining faster than it is milling and has built up a stockpile of ore waiting to get milled. More stopes being open de-risks the continued flow of ore to the mill and we should soon find out how much they can consistently mill.
Hi Zappyman, whereas a good April number will certainly help, I think investors will be looking at whether 1350 tonnes / day has been reached or there is evidence that it is imminent, plus improving grades.
Good logic. Cost information from the results next week should help us refine our projections if the detail is sufficient to be able to strip out some of the one off events and and get to an estimate of steady state cost of production.
Slater, entering in the 600s I'm doing a bit better than most on this one, but not bragging as seldom replicated elsewhere.
You seem to be contradicting yourself when you say 'Why would I be monitoring and commenting on a stock if I didn't own it?' when you seem to be spending plenty of time doing that, with particular emphasis on bringing out the negative. Looking to get back in?
Hi Slater,
On todays Q1 report you predicted:
A good one will see probably +2%
Neutral -5% decline
Bad could see 10% decline again
Any update you'd like to give?
I agree great potential but need at least an indicative plan to be published.
Moon, you are really clutching at straws to trash this stock. We all know there have been setbacks since 2019 but this presentation is consistent with recent messaging and the team demonstrated that the turnaround was well progressed and profitability imminent or even immediate.
During the call you even said to TB - 'you da man!'
Moon ai fink it dont matta init caus we is pozativ cas flo bro so cn tak us tame haha
Agree with toptuf! People making a bit of a meal of this. He could have quoted some of the generic risks associated with mining but didn’t so time to move on.
He’s led one hell of a turnaround and as an investor I’m happy to have him in the seat.
I think its a case of TB not being prepared to to answer the question for at least a couple of reason:
1. It would constitute new information and would need to be released first by RNS and that will be with the results announcement in May.
2. The new FD will be going over Ramblers finances in great detail for the first time and she would not authorise anything going out until she's prepared it and happy to stand by it.
