If anyone with half a brain read their posting history, they would soon see some of the outlandish remarks they make and take no notice!
The person is slightly odd, they probably got very burnt trading or sacked from the company (or just a unique person!)
Every share has one so I wouldnt be worried!
Wasu - it’s a tough call. I’m luckily in profit but have always had the mindset and awareness that I got in when things were looking very rocky.
I have other investments where I got in on the recovery but it limits the long term potential return albeit with less risk. My strategy here was to get in when the recovery hadn’t even started, we saw how quickly this went up in June, I’m aware we could go down (personally a second European wave will make little difference for us, what we need is the transatlantic routes to Latam for IB and the US for BA and Al. I think Europe is priced in whereas the US isn’t And that’s where we get the recovery.
I’m hoping the RI allows me to lower my average some more to give a bit more of a cushion but even if I was 10-20k down, I wouldn’t sell
It’s going to be a rocky winter for all airlines, especially those with huge fleets.
We need the US to open and the big question is if this will happen before or after the vaccine.
Interesting snippet from the news article
rights issue and American Express proceeds, IAG's liquidity will support the company to operate for around 500 days if demand does not improve from estimated levels in the third quarter of 2020. There is a high degree of uncertainty in this estimate, however Moody's considers that the company's liquidity is weaker compared than similarly Ba-rated airlines. Nevertheless, the company has further levers to generate additional liquidity including through its remaining unencumbered aircraft fleet," the agency stated.
I remain very confident this is a solid long term hold, 500 days is a long time
Today’s drop was less extreme than I thought. It will be up and down all week. The RI will clearly dilute us but at the same time, it will limit the risk moving forward with a stable amount of cash in the bank.
The market doesn’t like risk so if it gets through the vote, it could have a positive impact on the sp

Thanks for the Norwegian article Sage. I’m aware of the rules over there as I’ve been an insider for the last 14 months. I’m officially no longer an insider and want to buy shares and it’s so frustrating trying to do it.
Good post TMT
The reason IAG is hovering around 180-220 is simply because of the current situation, we are covering ourselves for an extended period of hardship but in 12-36 months, the market will retried, people will want to travel and we will be more efficient than ever before.
If we pickup air Europa at a discount along the way, brilliant.
The new transatlantic economy strategy from AI is interesting

Business/ First makes a huge distance on long haul. Short haul, it depends on your status. Planes are quite busy currently as not many are flying! Club Europe is full, if you’re gold fly economy and take the emergency exit seats (they won’t put anyone next to a gold member unless the plane is 100% full or another gold member chooses to sit next to you)
I agree smart. With all the travelling I’m doing, by far the worst location was Portugal (not saying the whole of Portugal). The younger guests simply didn’t social distance whatsoever and the hotel (5 star hotel but not good imo) rammed guests in so even adults couldn’t really social distance
Every where else has been really well planned
Airlines have been fantastic with the exception of Lufthansa (I had a filthy seat) and my colleagues who flew with Ryan air were disgusted last week.
German Wings (Lufthansa) are flying pre Covid style bar face masks. The plane was clean but it was a feee for all on boarding For non status flyers and Normal paid for bar service etc
Personally, I think he should be rewarded, however, it must be delayed till 2023 imo

Why did all airlines take a hit today?
Been travelling all day and wasn’t surprised by the dip but was surprised all airlines were 5+ % down. Surely it can’t just be Portugal?
Just seen an advert for Ryan Air dropping fares to £5! Wow. They’re being slated for the cleanliness of their planes so perhaps they’re just trying to build the numbers back up
