Good point Kev
However, when you dig a bit deeper. I'd imagine they do give all sorts of undisclosed incentives to the retailers to win their business which aren't disclosed as its a lucrative business in which VISA and Mastercard sit above a layer of merchant providers such as stripe / worldpay/ globalpay etc that alI take a cut and then there.is yet another layer which is the terminal provider's who have rental agreements with the retailers for the chip and Pin machines.
All several layers of undisclosed costs and no real transparency for the customer who won't give it a seconds thought when entering their PIN.
i actually dont care if the retailer has negotiated a small kick back from any of those layers in fhe chain.
They are all in business to make money and the consumers are free to take their business elsewhere if they can find a better deal elsewhere.
It's.just my view, but I think the car dealerships are being unfairly targeted.
And I never thought id say that.
Maybe they should start looking into Estate agents and house builders.
next and the kickbacks they receive from 'recommending' certain law firms or surveyors or EPC providers
Again,I wouldn't really want to see that happen as I believe in the principle of caveat emptor.
