Gordon Stein, CFO of CleanTech Lithium, explains why CTL acquired the 23 Laguna Verde licenses. Watch the video here.
Actually all blue so far. Not sure how NEX is looking.
I appreciate that nookie, I am almost 50pc down on paper but I am happy to keep averaging down for now and will see if anything is left after about 5 years. Alba is one of my riskier investments (that and bits of crypto!) so I am fully prepared to be left with nothing, but as you say, with a 4m mcap this is currently one of the few undervalued shares on aim that actually has 'something' rather than just a concept or the promise of some discovery. Nothing is going to happen this week, or next and the BOD have at least been clear about that...trenching, then rock chip sampling, then maybe some drilling...all with cost attached and therefore more dilution without a partner. The upside from 4m is obvious however and for me its the diverse project range that is the draw. A gold exploration company that doesn't find gold is doomed, but we already have confirmed one of the highest quality graphite deposits, potentially a world class Ilmenite resource, and 11pc as well as the chance of another significant gold strike in Wales and other less developed prospects. The fact is this is a speculative share, as everybody knows, with more pain and dilution to come no doubt. Alba have not stood still however (cloggy renovations, maiden thule resource etc) and while slow going, it only takes one success from the 6 or so spinning plates and the returns could be decent. Personally, I like those odds...
Personally I would rather be invested in a company that drill and assess the feasibility and cost/benefit, rather than wasting money mining randomly and spending more digging out low grades than the actual sale price but each to their own
Could not agree more. The drilling was actually good news, gold samples were found albeit at low grades but the aim was to identify 'gold bearing structures. Job done. There are so many potentially un-tapped gold veins accros the area held by Alba. We are in for a few years of firming up resource estimates etc but things are slowly moving in the right direction and from this mcap it only takes one project to be a winner
NAV 8.47m, mcap 4.23m. Wish I topped up today instead of yesterday. Ha
I must admit it would be nice to see a bit of blue for a change. At these prices I am worried my small top-ups are starting to look like a hostile takeover! Haha
...because the majority of exploration companies work that way. If you start with a license to explore an area where you think there might be gold its a process of drilling and geological work, which in most cases draws a blank. If gold is found in a commercially viable quantity then a larger backer is almost always needed to actually bring a mine into fruition (Oriole - iamgold, greatland - newcrest etc)
We could always plaster over the bbs that this share will be £20 within the year and some fools will plough their money in. Before you know it, its a self-fulfilling proficy and the sp will rise, the early adopters make money and tell their friends who in turn plough their money in. I mention no names. Haha! In all seriousness, I think regardless of what you think of the BOD this is undervalued because UKOG are likely to get HH into production (as a minimum they seem fairly competent) so on that alone the sp has some way to go. My personal opinion...there could still be gold in them thar hills but unless its fairly close to the surface we ain't getting it with current funding levels. Exploration of new gold targets in Wales could have a massive impact on sp if a JORC resource is identified, not least of all because of the 'story'. Look at the mcap Sirius had, a big find of anything of value in the UK draws investors. Greenland we are looking hopefully at a JV, the terms of which will very much depend on how the projects are shaped so exploratory work may seem boring and won't have a near term impact on the profit and loss account but it does at least increase the chances of a major taking interest. On balance, the sp could be 0.0001p tomorrow, I am still happy with the odds. I do appreciate the frustration of ppl who have been here for years and seen their investment eroded, but look at the 5 year sp of any junior miner/exploration company that is currently a big deal...down down down...up a lot. You take the risk or cut your losses
So barely any selling/buying but spread increase to 25pc manipulates the buy/sell figures.
The BOD don't have any influence over the current share price, simple market forces. Its not like if I decide to dump my shares GF will turn up at my door to persuade me otherwise. News flow may have some influence, but alas even if the drilling results come back positive there is no way of stopping people bailing at the first sniff of profit so conversely we will probs end up down. Ha! For me the more this is artificially deflated the greater the chance of significant returns eventually, like pulling back the string on a bow. Look at premier african minerals, down down down down...multibag. hope springs eternal
Hopefully not before I treat myself to a small payday topup tomorrow :)
Good find dsfat, personally I hope we retain an interest rather than selling TBS. Ilmenite prices are expected to increase and if the JORC resource can be increased and positive news for BlueJay lands then access to the purest Ilmenite source in the world could be tempting for any big player in the mineral sands game. Kenmare is worth a few hundred mil based on their (potentially) inferior ilmenite operations alone so its easy to see where the share price could go from here (down! Haha)
There is not much we did not know, but its good to re-iterate for new investors and to raise Alba's profile. No idea why people would jump ship with the sp so low, a few weeks out from the assay results. Buy high sell low seems to be a common theme for some folks. If people want to sell their shares I am more than happy to buy, and as I am slowly growing my position I was chuffed to see it dip! Share price and value are by no means the same thing.
It makes no difference what the share price is today, or tomorrow, or next week. Its the price you sell at that counts, and for me (personally) I think we may get some decent blips with some positive news, but don't expect to get a sustained rise until Alba start generating a steady income - around 2 to 3 years time judging by recent podcasts. Every mining or pharma company has the same complaining, the same trailing share price, x has lost y, poor communication and so on...but then a few rocket in price eventually. This is a speculative share, hence I am happy to top up regularly until the re-rate occurs or we go bust. Of course it is a gamble, but with favourable odds (even if Alba were totally incompetent, they still have a chance of a decent lift if UKOG aren't). At the end of the day, everybody is invested here and across the whole aim junior mining/exploration sector looking for a glimmer of a chance of significant payback while knowing full well their entire investment is at risk? I personally prefer the slow (albeit-very slow) burn approach, rather than massive dilution or unsustainable debt and inevitable melt down.
So this share, as with almost every AIM company that is yet to make a profit, is a gamble. So many junior miners have gone under while a few have returned massive gains. Even if gold is found in huge piles and buyers are found for graphite and Ilmenite there is no guarantee that the share price will react. You could also pay into a pension all of your life and die before you hit retirement age, or buy a property to let and never have a single tenant. There is no point complaining about the dilution and declining share price if you are a holder as the whole point is that you have the longer term in mind, and there have been positive indications that this company may one day be worth something. The mine may yet be bare, a buyer for Graphite and Ilmenite may not be found...such is the risk. At least with multiple projects the risk is spread and from 6m mcap the potential upside could be significant. On every one of the thousands of lse boards people have the firm belief that their share is the next big thing, or others who inexplicably hang around without investing to talk things down...but at this level you toss the coin and in the next 5-10 years what will be will be regardless of how much people ramp or de-ramp
So *****ing and ramping/deramping aside, does anybody have an opinion on this?
Not long now, December tomorrow. If the price stays low there will be another cheeky little top up from me on monday, hope the wait is worth it. Out of curiosity does anybody here invest in cryptocurrency? Its getting very lonely on those new boards! Haha
I topped up with a few hundred shares in advance of pay day :)
Any dips and spikes over the next few weeks are fairly meaningless, the proof is in the pudding...and the pudding will be served shortly. Haha
