Someone please explain why a long term holder like Capital would reduce their shareholding substantially ahead of good news?

Results announcement due on Monday 25 March.

Amati Global investors increased their holding from 4.4% to 5.33% four days ago. Ouch! I have topped up today so hope my timing is better.

Looks like some of the smaller investors are being panicked into selling or stop losses being activated. Share collapse maybe due to general market sentiment plus concerns over currency conversion rates re QXT’s overseas earnings.

Jkg53 - I agree that the U.K. outsourcing business model holds good for the future. Government departments will continue to outsource out of necessity and the selection of contractor will be partly driven by data protection guarantees. A government department will be slow to outsource to a contractor where personal and other sensitive data is to be stored and processed outside the jurisdiction. Capita offers this comfort.

Yes big smoke - seems to be working ok now but locked out twice earlier today when tempted to buy at the low. Keep meaning to move to HL.

Thank you easyp. This is clearly yet another glitch on the SmartInvestor trading platform which still shows POS as delisting on my trading account. Will ask Barclays to correct.

According to the Barclays SmartInvestor trading platform POS is delisting and no buy/sell prices are shown, but no RNS in support. Anyone know what is going on?

SP seems unaffected by today�s announcement restricting maximum stakes to �2 in the U.K. Revenues are generated mostly in Asia, North America and Australia so not overly dependent on UK sales.

Looks like a great deal for the HRG shareholders and directors. I imagine GBT will become the prominent branding over time so goodbye to all things HRG. I do not see anyone bettering the offers for either business. It�s a full offer by GBT in these uncertain times so I would expect them to waste no time in making their cost-saving synergies, so probably not great news for some employees.

I agree the shares look to be an attractive buy for its dividend yield, but I think its pension scheme liabilities (almost equal to its market cap) might deter a takeover. Also business travel agency is a very competitive market and difficult to grow revenues and margins. The annual reports show the company is continually having to cut costs to maintain margins. This is good effective management in a very tough market.

Interesting that Teleios has doubled its shareholding to just over 13% in last few months. I have seen them described as an "active" Investor - at Fenner plc they managed to get their nominee voted on to the Board.

I am not a holder in Barc but if I was on today's showing I would be selling up, always assuming I could access their new share trading platform. Apparently it does work albeit not as user friendly as its predecessor. Their customer service helplines were engaged all today and in fact closed down an hour early. Will need to visit a local branch tomorrow to see if someone there can sort out this shambles of Barc's own making - so much for their new online trading experience.

Not for me! I was told I would need a new membership number and an online passcode for log-in to the new site. I received the membership number by post about 10 days ago but still waiting to receive the passcode, so am effectively locked out of my share dealing and ISA accounts. The two helpline numbers are continuously engaged. What a shambles!

Yes, richly deserved I am sure although he does not actually retire until May 2018. It is just a pity that the RNS does not give any reason why on 31 May he suddenly decided to resign his board appointment on the same day. It seems to have taken the company by surprise as normally you would expect to have a replacement lined up for such a pivotal role. I am probably overreacting - the SP is holding up so investors in the company obviously could not care less.

According to the 2016 Report he was paid £668k including bonuses so someone on the Remuneration Committee must have considered the role of sufficient importance to merit this. Should be no problem finding a willing replacement with this sort of salary on offer. I did not realise travel agency paid so well! I do not hold shares in HRG but kept it under review. Seems to be a well-managed company that has spent the last 10 years reducing the debt taken on when it originally went private, and cutting costs. I think the pension deficit would deter any acquisition interest at the present time.

I agree at this level a good buying opportunity for the longer term investor or a serious stake-builder. It would be encouraging to see the directors picking up a few shares at these levels.
