The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring financial educator and author Jared Dillian has been released. Listen here.
I dont think it will be long now, the news flow has been really good, as far as Baita Plai goes though we do need the money. This second Tranche from Mercuria obviously makes Baita Plai real in the sense nothing can happen without the payment. The specialist IIs though will surely be watching progress here because with the market cap at only 30 million the upside given the current state of play at VAST never mind if we get Marange is huge. Just patience, if its good enough for the Chief Executive Officer and the Chief Finance Officer, its good enough for me.
Thanks for replying, sorry for not saying that.
I also cant help remembering that only just a fortnight ago, both the current CEO and the CFO put a hundred grand into buying 16 million shares between them. they could do that as news of current activities was released, but they know far more than we do, it just seemed a lot to put in bearing in mind they already had very large holdings each anyway.
Does anyone have any further information about any of those below re. VAST and holdings.?
Hargreaves Lansdown Asset Management 11.71 629,770,422
Interactive Investor Sharedealing 8.03 432,022,451
Halifax Share Dealing 6.69 359,806,597
Barclays Wealth and Investment Management (UK) 5.56 299,252,127
I think its interesting that for this One Million investment our buyer got about 120 million shares, roughly speaking. For an II this is tiny buying but its the first and that counts hugely. Other IIs can now see one of their kind has invested, this will make it far easier for researchers to pass the company name higher up to the decision takers. This will also be of interest to the investment press as its a first in this type of funding. We really are doing well for a tiny 30 million cap company, several mines now working or funded. The Production figures i am sure are going to be very good and that again will be of interest to the IIs who will at some time buy at the market. Then we will see fireworks, and in such a timely fashion!!
Vast Resources plc / Ticker: VAST / Index: AIM / Sector: Mining
30 October 2018
Vast Resources plc
("Vast" or the "Company")
US$1 million Funding Secured for Blueberry Project
Vast Resources plc, the AIM listed mining company with operating mines
in Romania and Zimbabwe, is pleased to announce that further to the
announcement of 5 September 2018, the Company has now secured the
previously indicated investment by an institutional investor in the
Company's subsidiary EMA Resources Ltd ('EMA'). As a result, together
with early investments obtained from individuals, funding in excess of
US$1 million has now been procured for the gold focussed polymetallic
Blueberry Project located in the Golden Quadrilateral of Western
Romania.
The time limit for the procurement of US$1 million funding under EMA's
agreement with the vendors of Blueberry Ridge SRL, owner of the
Blueberry Project, was recently extended to 30 October 2018 and has
therefore been satisfied. The retention by Vast of a 29.41% interest in
EMA post issue of shares in EMA to the vendors has therefore now been
secured.
Andrew Prelea CEO commented:
"I am delighted to receive confirmation of the support for the Blueberry
Project from an institutional investor and that Vast's interest in the
Blueberry Project is now confirmed. I look forward to giving further
news on drilling and assay results as they become available."
I have to say I agree with your post completely. We all take our chances after doing our own research. Some post their research, others dont. Thats completely fair. Anyone can post anything within reason as its a free BB. It would be nice though to have a little research instead of meaningless whinging and what at times seem like just deranged comments.
We all know AP is going to Zimbabwe to do some serious business on behalf of VAST. We know he has already pulled off the very difficult negotiations with Baita Plai in Romania. This has had amazing results. The clear answer is to give him the next two weeks to come back and report to us on a long list of important RNSs for VAST. The mms are going to tree shake the price but RNSs can come any time any day, and if youre out, you are out.
This thread is very good, for me its actually an excellent thread and the people who visit have a lot of info to give. Its an easy find for other potential investors and in the next two weeks when we get news on so many levels we will at last be able to see a very different project. Then we will get the publicity we need to attract investors. AP has said II investment is going to be his main task...he has been so good at all the other tasks he has been set i have complete confidence in him. Again though i would plead for this thread to remain focused as i do believe splitting up those who regularly post here will result in the loss of a great resource for new investors or those who are simply curious about VAST.
Hopefully AP will be back at the weekend and will clearly have news. If not then he should be back next week some time as he had said one to two weeks. BOD Campbell was over there before him last week seeing the comunity leaders and the geography. I am looking for next week to be a week with some good news.
About four weeks ago we had the article in the Sunday Mail, the article included this comment,
A London-listed mining firm has staked a new claim in Zimbabwe’s Marange diamond fields, in a deal that could unlock £1.7 billion of gems.
Aim-listed Vast Resources has agreed joint venture terms with Red Mercury, a Zimbabwean community trust, for exclusive access to a concession in the fields.
Red Mercury will provide a full mining licence and Vast will procure funding from investors for an ‘efficiently operating diamond mine’.
It seems to me that the Mail on Sunday, which is a very influential share tip source was setting up VASTs progress with that first article. Since then we have had a lot of progress including the Baita ~Plai agreement. We need the T2 from Mercuria and that should arrive shortly once the paperwork as flagged by AP has been completed. Then we need to see the Work Plan for BP as well as the quarterly production figures. Each of these can arrive any time, indeed they should come along like buses during the next ten days. As the Mercuria money drops in, thus liberating the Work Plan for BP so we can see a definite addition to the production figures from this new venture, at the moment we still dont have the money to kickstart it.
But then we will have some comment from AP about Zimbabwe. I am particularly interested in this as i do believe AP has good bargaining power in this one and he will certainly use all tools at his disposal to achieve a good outcome from the negotiations he will undoubtedly have with senior figures in Zimbabwes government. The Mail on Sunday, 'This is Money' section, have already introduced VAST. A really good article in the Mail will be the best catalyst for our share price as we do need not just new PIs buying but an II, and that article can produce both. Time and again i have seen a good newspaper tip get taken up by one fund or II or special situations investment.
Either way it wont be long now because the final pieces are falling into place removing risk in what we have to admit are hostile territories attempting to grow out of their poor political heritage. A little more patience, a little more information and we will suddenly have a company that is mining in 5 different mines in two territories covering Polymetalics including Gold and Silver as well as Diamonds. I think AP timed his new purchase of 8 million shares very well, not forgetting he is allowed to buy now that so much forward price sensitive information has been made available and flagged as being in the pipeline.
you are right. The Buys / Sells are marked as being a buy or sell when they are posted on the system. So if a MM gets a BUY order for 5 million VAST when the bid is 56 and the offer is 57 then the trade is done at 57.
However the market maker is not obliged to report ( post ) the trade straight away, the trade reporting can be done much later. So if in the meantime the price changes to 57 Bid 59 Offer the computorised software sees the price of trade at 57 as a sell NOT a buy, and marks it accordingly.
Yes the larger markets are the same, this is supposed to be to allow the MMs to keep orderly trade, in other words by effectively hiding trades they can help diffuse panic or overoptimistic trading.

I take your point, mine though was that now we DO have BP, soon we will have Marange. We also have Pickstone, Blueberry, Eureka and Manaila, its the way the project is coming together that gives the cake. The diamonds will give it the cream.
Many kind remarks there so thank you, i should say i am mainly a trader within the FTSE 100 / 250 this type of share is not my skill type, however in the last 40 years i cant think of a better high risk / return investment than VAST mainly due to it being strongly supported by the Romanian Govt, ( 1st such mine in 19 years ) Mercuria, ( Multi Billion Operator ) ,
a very good Management team including the excellent AP all on top of the field dynamics themselves.
With all respect i think the 1.2 figure is very modest. VAST has been trading around the .6 mark for 2 years. It started on its rising trend in December 2016. Gradually it rose to an intraday high in October 2017 of .8. This type of long consolidation often results in a very very strong upsurge in price once good newsflow really starts in earnest. Recently VASTs newsflow has been excellent for two reasons, firstly APs 'workplan' ie stated aims, have all been maturing. Delays yes but when considering the governments he is dealing with delays should be accepted. Secondly recent RNSs have been containing very good news for VASTs future. The next RNSs will give, if they go as planned, additional money to VAST in the form of Mercurias second tranch, and more news about the Baitia Plai work schedules. These will be very interesting as they will allow pretty accurate cash flows to be extrapolated. However its the news form Zimbabwe that will really catch investors imaginations due to the fact that VAST already has Pickstones income, about to increase as well as the real money spinner in the form of Marange diamonds. News form Marange could be hugely accretive to share value not just because of forward plans released to the market by VAST on how they are going to work towards getting the diamonds, but also the time span involved. This I think is going to be so short one could almost call it immediate. They have started work on the ground already with the community group Red Mercury, we know that from their website, even fencing has started. AP is in Zimbabwe, so too BODs Mr Campbell who is looking at Marange from the geology perspective. Once the market sees VAST get the go ahead for Marange mining and realises this will involve open cast effectively, then its going to be mayhem with regard to the share price because the current MC is only 30 million.
Fair comments to you larsson2 but to be fair to AP he has only been at the helm for 10 months. In that time he has moved the company towards increasing production, improving profits, bringing in new concessions, finding good quality people to help at board and managerial levels as well as doing the fundraising etx. He has had to work with a bombed out wreck of a company and has to date seriously improved VASTs chances of becoming as he puts it, 'a mid tier miner'.
We are still awaiting the P2 from Mercuria as well as formal news from Zimbabwe, both of these are very important. As the market gets to grips with what AP has done so interest will increase. Its a very easy call to sell and go or stay and take the risk, but when i see success of this nature i am inclined to back it as an investment and wait. I do very much understand the frustration of those who were in here years ago, but AP was not responsible for the mistakes of the past. AT £ 30 million VAST has a lot to offer, maybe, very soon a hell of a lot more.
Everything getting mullered today, good companies getting marked down to stop sellers getting out unless they want to take a loss. This makes it easy for the MMs to re-sell because if the price is low enough they can get sellers and buyers. No different to VAST, many are trading on T10s or T20s and they will be truly clobbered in any company if they want out today.
In my opinion it isnt James Campbell ime interested in AP meeting its the Minister for Mines. VAST has a very good legal claim to the way it was historically treated by Mugabe. I dont for one second believe AP will truly imagine getting compensation in cash, but compensation can be paid in many ways to VAST. I think we are on the cusp of something really big if the winds flow right. AP can truly say VAST has just been given an award for Miner of the year in the Balkans, this may not mean much to a lot of people but to a government it shows a degree of respect forma completely independent source. Zimbabwe really needs the diamond money and VAST has set itself up very cleverly with not just the Red Mercury group but also with BOD, who though tiny do actually have a lot of experience in both Diamonds and the related markets as well as Zimbabwe. AP is doing very well, and has an opportunity here that is quite considerable, ime sure he wont waste it and am very keen to see the next RNS form Zimbabwe.
I think we are seeing a large placing going through. I think it will be at about .6 p and will give the share price a good boost as i think it is being done by a good or large Investment fund or other Institutional investor. AP is not messing around with VAST and Marange is going to need funds quickly, given the huge money potential in Marange it has my blessing.
I cannot think of any company on AIM where the CEO gives as much attention to shareholders, without the Parsons type of bull. One after another informative and accelerating interviews. Nice story and soon to catch the attention of the papers with all this activity. Not long for a far better shareholders base.
