Cobus Loots, CEO of Pan African Resources, on delivering sector-leading returns for shareholders. Watch the video here.
There are so many companies in AIM with resource estimates worth hundreds of millions and sometimes even billions and they all had these huge spikes before fully retracing and going lower because the next question is how will they get funding to actually build the well.
I have been hearing a lot of news reports on WW3 starting in summer 2025 possibly and conscription being considered within the UK already and suddenly my recent urge to invest into African mining companies makes much more sense when you consider the historically neutral position the continent has taken during the past two global conflicts, as it will have a chance of continuing operations and paying an income while the G7 economies go up in flames. Hopefully if the first dividend arrives before the actual conflict kicks off I will be in a position to get a house and a golden visa somewhere before im drafted, so I can sit in a comfy home and eat takeaways funded by SA emeralds.
It will however be important for our customers to be preserved as well, so we need Saudi and India to stay neutral!
Optical sorter should be arriving next week, fingers crossed!
Yes it's mine and I'm considering further buys depending on news and communications.
I bought up 1% of the share capital today, will likely appear as an unknown trade. The business is about to commence production in a few months, its fully funded and there is an easy route to sale via auction which works for Gemfield. I haven't found any other miners this close to production so I made this my biggest holding. I will perhaps visit SA in the near future as well.
I am preparing a large order so please keep it suppressed for my entry XD
I suspect Cawn is correct!
I am interested in Kefi but anyone who says that it's lower risk than Alien Metals doesn't know how to accurately assess risk.
First of all their proposed mine is to be built in Ethopia, a nation which has recently emerged from a civil war.
Secondly, the capex needed is in the hundreds of millions and the time to build the mine is two years.
Thirdly, the credit was expected to have already have been approved but has not and there is no guarantee it ever will.
Taking all of that into account there is still huge upside potential from a 2 Moz gold deposit worth circa 2 billion dollars and it will be a positive economic development for Ethopia but it is still a risky gamble.
Alien Metals has a large tenement which is 5% explored but has a JORC resource of 10 Mt Iron Ore nd their funding requirements are only 30 million USD. They are also based in Australia and the time to build the mine is only 5 months. There is no need relocate anyone and construction commences as soon as approvals and funding is arranged, which might have already taken place.
There is a lot less that can go wrong with Alien Metals and they should be revenue generating before Kefi, so a smart person would perhaps roll some profit from Alien into Kefi during their 2 year construction period, if they even get to that stage.
Shifting CEO at different projecf stages with ideal skill sets and connections can be advantageous, so now Alien needs someone with a good fundraising CV, who also has good personal connections with financiers!
We can expect a good bounce with a strong CEO appointment and some media coverage.
What happens if they have another poor drill result?
Troy was never appointed COO of Bluejay it was a typo that was beyond the control of Alien Metals, please wash and dry your soiled pants now!
placing here is certainly not guaranteed as finance for han**** will likely include the low opex costs of the company. they also have access to a short term bridging loan facility from bennelong if they really do run out of funds before they secure further finance. however, i think they should stop drilling other prospects if it comes to this as there is no real benefit rushing this if they can't keep the lights on and end up diluting us again.
a quick look at the recent placing history also reveals they normally sell between 5-20% of the share total, so if there was "just" one more placing before they got han**** over the finish line, i could live with that.

if troy is considering leaving at this critical juncture that would explain the sp decline and i said earlier nobody should be bashing troy while he is close to executing han****. there are however some innocent reasons he might be doing this, which include that he is preparing for a take over of alien metals or he is perhaps preparing to sacrifice his salary to extend opex funds further into q1.
Richard98, Ukraine had to axe BigBlue due to budget constraints, he might get a new propaganda contract if they can secure US funding again.
Slava Bank Balance!
Dcat80 I get your frustration as you expect UFO to pass FID stage before Jangada who have been stuck there for a good while, however I wonder if these guys aren't taking their time for real business reasons as I know two companies who got caught out by inflation and rising energy costs during construction and they're in big trouble as they're insolvent while their mines are only half built and they are likely to get swallowed up by majors after administration and equity wipeouts, so this pause in progress might actually be tactical.
i bought at 0.2, i'm still here and i am in 5 digit profit already. i will also get as close to the han**** mining site as i am allowed in 2024 when i visit australia π
Keep shorting brothers, we want 10p!
Im gonna take a reasonably sized punt ($10,000) on this from my previously untouchable Polymetal holdings, nepotism is probably playing a part in this decision as I am from a very close neighbour π
if it turns out this company extracts the full value of those proposed mines by suing the indian government then that is actually even better than mining it in the first place, as it removes all the associated risks involved in mine construction.
i also have a lot of friends from ****stan and they will probably love the idea of investing in a company to sue india (sue india plc)!
It's highly possible but no point to guess as we can just follow the news tomorrow
