Has there been any comments on what the Douta production output per year is estimated to be?

Cazbraz the storms have already happened and there was water ingress at Haveiron apparently but nothing major. The dust storm took out the operating plants/trains for 5-6 working days apparently and the scheduled maintenance in november was approximately 17 days as per all the contract jobs that were advertised on Seek.com.au back in september for the planned shutdown. Make it what you will but there will be an impact on production unless they did more throughput in the up and running periods. Will just have to wait and see what the outcome is in the quarterlies.

The key takeaway though is that we maybe in a Tier 1 jurisdiction and producing alot of gold at telfer BUT events happen that stop revenue being produced and why i am keen on a second plant/mine to reduce this one mine risk for GGP. We have an underground mishap and we will be closed for along time.

See if this is taken down again by whoever is monitoring these boards and will state in a diplomatic way ;-)

Bottom line is that the Q1 bottom line was well estimated very well about 2 weeks before release in October and stated by a respected poster. I will let you guess the rest!

Backlog at the end of Q3 was $457m and we are a 45m a quarter revenue producer and now backlog at end of Q4 is $540m. Looks this contract and any other extensions have been worth nearly $128m in this quarter or nearly a quarter of the total backlog in one quarter banked!

Another strong move by MTL today - it took 15m shares to be traded yesterday to move it above 15p only to move back and today only 4m so far but seemingly holding 15p at the moment.

Chrome i have now heavily invested in MTL another gold producer with some great licenses and a producer that is looking to double in next 12-18 months if your looking where to park some money. Have a read and discuss and ask questions on the MTL thread and some knowledgeable individuals on there.

Sorry i misinterpreted your comment. I thought you were also referring to segilola being an extended mine life for many years.

Uruguay, it only impacts them at end of a quarter when they report to investors for funds hence why you normally always see prices pushed the last few days before end of a calendar year by funds as well in particular as can do on low volume. To be honest i hope you are correct and there is no dump. At the end of the day the gold is still in the ground, alot of cash in the bank and gold price is high :-)

ISA Investor i can see how you can get a 10 year ++ mine life for Douta as with current reserves and surrounding licenses it is highly likely to be that. Just wondering how you get Segilola anywhere near a 20 year mine life? Are you talking about the other licenses feeding the plant there?? just interested on your take and information

Uruguay - I hope it does not but you saw the power of the institutions that dropped the price down to 2.40 to collect shares. No reason it will not happen again. Personally I am in for the long term and have cash to buy more if it does happen but I would suggest it would rebound quickly as there will be many people and institutions wanting to do the same thing. The fact that the short opened in Oz today probably highlights that they plan to do the same thing!

Thanks pick and makes sense all you have stated as in. Couple other gold producers in different jurisdictions. Must say the drilling results from the other Nigerian prospects look promising as well and hopefully 2026 we will have an idea on whether they are potential opportunities or not.

Well it does appear after two days of gold price increases that asx has been held by what could be a lower quarterly production number. If anyone watched what happened to hochchild earlier this year they got hammered and as lower output and AISC higher. They have since rebounded since but IF there is any truth to 45k ozs then expect well below £4 price target.

Many of us on here said one thing the markets want to see is consistency of output at telfer while delivering an extension of mine life at end of q1 next year. So it seems we may have an anomaly to this for this quarter which may cause some pain in short term - again all based on price action and a comment yesterday of someone that knows people at the mine!

I think make your own judgement but if you see 3.50 again in the next few weeks then don’t be surprised!

Catchingpidgeons i have just invested here recently and MTL in the past month as wanted to extend my gold producers outside of GGP which i still hold a large chunk of.

What impressed me was the CEO and his ability to articulate the strategy and to date they have delivered which is why the three gold stocks i now hold have three key ingredients - a management team that can deliver, alot of blue sky opportunity eg new mines and no major requirement for an equity raise that diminishes returns in the short term.

Be interested in some of the long term holders of Thor as to what predictions you have for SP based on gold at 4000an oz. Thanks in advance

Thanks Triumph - i am also sure that the re-configuration of the plant that they are buying will not be without hiccups so will be interesting to see whether they are processing ore in Q4 this year or 2027.
