Coffee shop talk.....Recent Survey indicating many Stateside outlets reaching rental capacity across all types construction equipment ...UK still have slack but at 80% plus in several regions.....Given another 6 mths. 10 looks achievable.....hard push to go much higher unless competition is taken out......and USD rises some 10% v GBP......which looks unlikely.

Volume of Hi Tech Rentals appears to be increasing last 3-4 mths with Oil / Gas Majors, with even greater safety requirements being pushed thru by US Regulators re. Asset Assurance requiring increase in Inspections re. drilling and production systems,.....expect an even greater % increase in ROCE in this area...Considering the increase in Subsea Developments likes of Dim Eye and Enviro Monitoring Equipment AHT rent look on the up for next few years.

With drilling on the up high end equip rentals on the up, AHT appear to be right amongst it and peak looking to be another 6-9 months for drilling in US.......hopefully brokers estimates will be proven correct and mid - high nines will be seen shortly or even the ton.......all bodes well.....

See the US Mall figures and tax returns are up.....also the number of repairs needed to homes and increase in oil business in US....all will have pos effect.

Watching recruitment agency news they must have been recruiting an extra bean counter or two..which in all likely hood is to count the extra cash.....and of course assist a few of there managers figure how to protect the increased profits.....mind one lag said it's to do a few sums on the individual taxes that were due in US today....as for trading update before results It would need a big push from the fund managers and that isn't needed and won't happen.....unless of course they make a major acquisition.....stranger things happen when it's rolling in and markets are down .

What they missed was that the Opex is going down re. Rental Costs.....another plus to add to the higher volumes going out the door.....also hire durations increasing with better weather.....

At this price makes one think could the clock be ticking away for SSE.

Talking to an employee out fixing the lines he reckons that the efficiency in maintenance of equipment has improved significantly in past 6-9 mths, says there is still more efficiencies to be made if management involve work force more...accidents also reducing in number and seriousness thanks to management and workforce efforts... I just hope they thank the lads with a decent bonus when divis announced...ps I don't work for them and think ....no I know, labour need to get a new leader....and that's after supporting them for 45 yrs.....time to change me thinks and buy a few more shares.....esp. as I retire in April. Word in SA now the chance'ers are out for a few months at least....is that Petrofac are looking...makes sense with the Gulf connection.....also SA soon to take off in Petro Projects......and KENTZ have the South Africans in place and on board. PetroSA has support from Gov to upgrade Refineries, develop pipelines, LNG plants....watch Saldahna Bay...prop prices soon on the up.....and Moss Bay needs Gas/ long term from wherever....frac will happen sooner rather than later.....have AMEC missed the next Baku.....Mozambigue can't use the gas nor Namibia .....role on. Forgot to note...SA needs Engineers on the ground....Kentz are there now.....oh there,s also Kenya, Angola......feels like a Birthday coming on.......

Based on expectations for GBP and USD over next 2-3 yrs, does anyone have an opinion of real returns, if investing at current level and forecasts......to me this is nearly as a good a bet as BP or BG.....yes I like a gamble....but like to hear opinion of others that have delved deeper ! may be a BP approach to core business model could bring even greater returns ?

Now Finlayson is in the driving seat and Carne lurking in the shadows could this be the time for their old masters to start reviewing old plans and the chance of a takeover....or better still the Chinese.......a few old hands discussing this at Heathrow the other day gets me thinking.....makes good sense with BG assets in Asia / Africa and Aus sitting well with both....

Can anyone advise if the problem Fiddessa was having with patent infringment has been settled and if so what effect this will have on the bottom line.
