This is a great and well diversified investment trust that specialises in buying investments that are on a discount to NAV. A very good long term but and hold IMO

It means that rather than hold shares as an investment on the hope of increasing in value, a short seller is gambling on the share price falling. They make money when the share price falls. If they are wrong they lose money. If they are wrong in a big way it can be a major problem for a short seller. There is potentially unlimited downside to short selling when the share price rises a lot eg if you had been short selling Tesla over tha past few years you may well be bankrupt

What was the consolidation of GKP shares that happened a number of years ago?

I am a long term holder of SXX, buying many years ago at<16p.

I haven't been following developments. To save me time researching and reading RNS's can someone please give me a brief summary of current status, reason for the recent drop and prospects?.

Thanks. I am not in Southern Britain, but I doubt if that would matter as I wouldn't need to meet him just communicate by phone and email, so yes contact details would be good. What do you think of Sipp invested in shares v IFA? I was thinking of doing 50/50 each, and I have the commercial property in the Sipp. Any suggestions as to what I should be investing in outside the Sipp or leave that up to the IFA?

Thanks again. You say you are a trader and not an investor. I don't know your circumstances, but how are you providing for your retirement (or perhaps you are retired already)? I am 37. Do you think what I am doing with a Sipp investing the rent from commercial property in shares is a good method of planning for my retirement? I got into this following illustrations from my IFA with 3% commission per year which I thought was a lot when compunded over say 25 years. Is there anything else I should be considering?

I have been interested in buying STAN as a long term buy and hold through my Sipp. Do you think now is the right time or should I wait for a while longer and hold onto cash for the time being? Or is there anyhting else you think I should be considering? Any advice appreciated.
