Obs. SNG001 is the biggie , but bottom line is supported by good results as antiviral for asthma and COPD - still huge markets .
Don't also forget their other 17% drug interest with Pharmaxis results in licencing. Im still optomistic about that too as its for pulmonary fibrosis ( which pts can be left with post CV I believe ).
I tend to agree LP, I wonder if SNG has all of the right interest it needs right now, and is dodging the other type. Its well connected ( Gov and US/abroad etc )already. Im sure if they thought extra attention was helpful now, theyd have engaged a PR Co. by now. I feel that they are quite happy pursuing a proper conclusion to the years of work they have spent on this drug. Fingers crossed.
BTW - Prof Stephen Holgate ( SNG co-founder) was awarded the Bazalgette Professorship - Champion of Evidence Award today - by UK Faculty of Public Health ( FPH ) - so congrats to him !

Just by way of updating anyone new etc.. this is the link to the updated trials list. Sure everyones got it but in case ? ...
Only 14 /29 are open to recruitment now...... 8/29 are Interventional ( not Observational ) -SG016 is one of these eight

Vaccine = strain dependent prevention measure
SNG001 = hopefully a treatment for several pulmonary viral infections
We’re going to need both now and in the future combined with better, quicker testing now and for the next one.
I noted that SNG have another product on their site, LOXL2 inhibitor ( I think in collaboration with Pharmaxis, but they still have 17% ?). Its a drug aimed at blocking or moderating Fibroblasts from forming scar tissue.
I noted it because isnt one of the long term health complications post CV19 infection - pulmonary fibrosis ? Is this another drug up their sleeve that might be useful ?? Ive not heard it mentioned, so perhaps not.
Any thoughts here?
gkb - I read one of those reasons was that some people naturally have less interferon themselves. I think one aspect /hope for this drug is that it might be prophylactic in terms of offering those more vulnerable people some extra protection, by loading their system
Even so, as I understood it, the real damage was the bodies excessive reaction( Citokine Storm ) to the virus. The inflammatory response in the lungs could result in inefficient O2 diffusion and then insufficient delivery to vital organs, then causing organ failure. Secondary infections can also be serious complications. Even those surviving can be left with pulmonary scarring ( Fibrosis ) as a result of this.
IFN -beta is hoped to moderate this, but its the delivery method - direct to the site, that I find most hopeful too.
TRIALS - im even irritating myself now !!
I dont see this as a problem at all, and quite probably a real benefit to SNG and the trial but out of interest, wonder why so much now on vaccines and still very little on SNG's work in mainstream media. ??
