Strictly... think it’s difficult to second guess. Previous trials already show it seemed safe I think. However, just because the trial continues, might not rule out any complications at all. Due to past data though and other studies, it does appear well tolerated, so I’m not expecting any IMO.
Your other point..... what if 60% pts improved ? It might seem good, but how would you KNOW for sure in such a small sample, that it wasn’t 60% (30) placebo and 60% (30) drug ?
My point is that nobody will actually know until unblinding......whenever that is, or was... only SNG know. I’m happy to let them sift through carefully and scientifically to reach a solid piece of research. My fingers are crossed for them.... and for anyone their drug might benefit.
I’m personally optimistic having followed SNG and the recent studies coming out but DYOR....,, not long to wait. I’m also hoping they announce home trialling this week as I expect even better results to come from an even earlier intervention IMO
Lp....I think having gone though it, we might be there for our data /sample collection but as DoH are there too, I wouldve expected their sampling/data to be much larger ? At the very least its great we are on their radar and in such good company.
Cheers Ghia, Im not sure there is a published list of the CARE arm partners either or at least I cant find one, it just states there are 36 involved. Maybe this will be updated ?
Nebulisation might transfer the drug further through the respiratory tract eg alveoli and pulmonary epithelium ,dispersing the drug more widely throughout infected areas or stimulating these sites initially, I imagine ? We'll find out soon enough !
Just read this online, but don’t think it includes SNG home trial.......wonder if that will also be announced soon now as well ??

As I posted previously, many industries such as dentistry need instant tests to carry on. Lab testing is not viable here IMO. That’s a HUGE market in one industry alone.....
Put another way.... if a new pregnancy test landed which involved sending samples off for analysis in a lab.......would makers of the current home test brands be threatened ???
DD, IMO, SNG took the most available and timely option to raise immediate funds, with the incentive to II's that they had a (almost) certain profit in as shorter timeframe as offloading ( to whatever level they required ) allowed.
I dont see their reduction to any level, even fully out, to be anything more than clearing their ability to generate profit from a guaranteed vehicle. Why take any further risk, when they can make this sort of reward ? Those funds will be off to the next similar venture now with another "guaranteed" return.
Synairgen just tweeted Re; Panorama etc so can everyone with Twitter re-Tweet it / like it - it moves it up and every bit of PR, even the small bits, raises their profile. Cheers. Ultimately SNG001 will speak for itself, but raising profiles is always helpful.
This trial is phase II and the sample size will have been chosen I presume to yield fast sampling and recruitment whilst providing statistically significance hopefully. It will have the imminent extension to home use too, so will be larger.
Tolerance and some bio indicators were already evidenced in the asthma / COPD trials.
Lots of media attention all unleashed prior to the start of home trial arm which I think will be announced this week IMO. ( maybe by way of RNS ).
Positive media is going to be a big aid to recruitment (so radio adverts are looking less likely I think ). Lets hope the even earlier interventions of home trials are very significant for the drug and yields great results.
Remdesivir etc would be give to the most unwell, or at least hospitalised patients. SNG001 would be prescribed at the very first sign of viral lung infection to those most at risk as a first strike intervention I believe . Hopefully, they might then never need hospital care.
I hope this also includes CV19....and the inevitable next one Im afraid.....but at least seems to be very encouraging results so far.
Trek, its a real problem without POC tests , as most procedures are aerosol generating ones = Full PPE and then extended decontamm. afterwards. A simple, quick on site test is what's needed - ASAP.
This type of test will be required globally now IMO with just this one industry as an example
Healthcare eg dentistry especially....needs POC tests to ever function properly IMO.
BTW - as a conservative estimate, 50% of a population, x1 visit per year = a lot of tests needed every year !!
