Zebbo, as far as I can see you never stated that 3.5% sulphur could not be refined. You actually stated, 'Very few refineries can process crude with more than 3.5% sulpher. The cost to refine 3.5 adds around 20% of cost. Hence this find may not be economically viable.' This actually implies that it can be refined, but only by refineries equiped to do so. The sulphur makes the oil corrosive and higher concentrations of sulphur will surely make the oil more corrosive. Corrosion damages infastructure which costs money, so surely the more corrosive the oil, the greater the corrosion, the higher the cost to process the oil and the lower the value of the field.
