Cheers Harry. 2 for the Imperial Cup 14.25 GEORGI GIRL 14/1 and SPIRIT DANOU 14/1 Both C & D winners and think latter might run better now back at Sandown despite being up in the weights (the Moore's usually do well at Sandown they had a treble on Tingle Creek day including the latter) GL :)
One for today 13.55 GERIMANDE 10/1 GLA :)
Just one for today 15.15 CHAMBARD 20/1 Venetia Williams has won this 3 times in recent years and this is her sort of race GLA :)
My 2 in the Betfair Hurdle LOOKAWAY 10/1 and NORMAN FLETCHER 20/1 GLA :)
Great day yesterday 16/1 6/1 and 11/1 winners and 2 2nds. Hope everything OK with yourself Harry. Today 13.40 DADDY LONG LEGS 8/1 Townend was looking around a lot at the end of race maybe the tack had gone worth another go imo 14.10 GENTLEMEN DE MEE 9/1 14.45 IMPAIRE ET PASSÉ 9/2 They are persevering with him at this trip 15.20 CLASSIC GETAWAY 8/1 ADAMANTLY CHOSEN 16/1 Don’t think he got home at Christmas now dropped in trip GLA :)
Great racing this weekend over in Ireland. 13.20 DANCING CITY 14/1 13.50 KARGESE 6/1 14.25 IL ETAIT TEMPS 11/1 Won on the card last under an enterprising ride from Danny Mullins 15.35 FASTORSLOW 3/1 Sandown DJELO 6/1 15.10 TANGANYIKA 33/1 GLA :)
Finally some decent racing after all the bad weather 1.15 HITMAN 10/1 3rd in the Ryanair Chase last year 2.25 EDITEUR DU GITE 7/1 Think this is his cup final and back to form at Kempton last month. They’ll have one eye on March with Jonbon if it turns into a scrap GLA :)
One of my favourite staying chases the Thyestes 14.50 BRONN 16/1 GEVREY 14/1 GLA :)
Thanks Harry. I've backed L'HOMME PRESSE 16/1 for the Cheltenham Gold Cup ahead of his reappearance run today. Think Galopin Des Champs is one of the best chasers I've seen but I like the softy softly approach for Cheltenham and if he runs at Leopardstown next month that's his 3rd run already of the season. Lhomme Presse is better going left handed and I was a big fan of him a couple of years ago in his novice season culminating is him with the Broadway Novices Chase at the fesitval GLA :)
13.57 SAINT ROI 14/1 Looks the sort Mullins wins these types of races with the former County Hurdle winner. 15.00 GALIA DIS LITEAUX 13/2 Similar to Saint Roi been running in Graded races and now in a handicap chase for the first time. Skeltons went close in this few years ago with Captain Chaos and she won the Grade 2 novice chase on this card last year GLA :)
One for today 13.42 CHAPEAU DE SOLEIL 11/1 Pleasing re-appearance run and the vibes are things are starting to click with him GLA :)
Happy New Year everyone. One for today 14.40 BUTCH 13/2 My old man's nickname GLA :)
Well done Harry 8/1 winner. Congratulations to Fergal O' Brien as well on his 2nd Grade 1 success on Saturday with Crambo you'd have to give him a squeak come March in the Stayers Hurdle also. He also has the favourite for the Welsh Grand National today but I will look elsewhere just from value perspective 14.50 WAYFINDER 25/1 Looks better this season and I backed him in the race last year and he wasn't right hes had wind surgery and has ran a couple of decent races this season including behind Nassalam in the trial couple of weeks ago. NOT SURE 33/1 Running out the weights but young chaser so prepared to take a chance at the odds. Think it pays to stick with the local trainers in the race so a Rebecca Curtis and Kerry Lee horse, who has won this already with Mountainous, will do for me both at double figure odds.
15.00 I backed Authorised Art in the Kerry National when he came 4th. I'm sticking with same principle and backing ADAMANTLY CHOSEN 16/1 and also JAMES DU BERLAIS 16/1 These are both Graded horses trying handicaps for the first time and this is a pretty good angle down the years with Mullins I belief GLA :)
Thanks Harry few for today 13.05 FAVOR AND FORTUNE 8/1 13.20 GIOVINCO 4/1 13.30 HOUSTON TEXAS 6/1 In the big one BRAVEMANSGAME 9/4 GLA :)
Cheers Harry. Mine for today 13.30 CREDO 5/1 Slight pull in the weights with fav and Sam TD great chase jockey was closing on fav in previous race could reverse the places today 14.25 CHAMP 6/1 Running fresh appears key and won this 2 years ago doing so. Him and PP are still decent stayers despite their age. 15.35 Lots in with chances Iberico Lord looks very progressive based on his Greatwood run might be more still to come. Onlymatteroftime has run out last two times so don't know why so short. Altobelli again not sure why so short despite 2nd at course recently. Luccia running out of excuses personally might come good at some point but not right now. I like Hansard who won the Gerry Feilden and despite topweight think could run well. He has form with Rubaud who is a horse I like trained by Nicholls who will likely fill the 2nd place slot again Constitution Hill next week. The one I will take a punt on is IMPOSE TOI 8/1. He could be anything and is twice the price of his stablemate Iberico Lord. Merry Christmas everyone GLA :)
Fun double 12.40 and 15.00 Despite the fact WEVEALLBEENCAUGHT 3/1 I took precautions and made sure to DESTROYTHEEVIDENCE 4/1 GLA :)
Early preview of December Gold Cup on Saturday. I was at Sandown last Saturday and nearly put one up for the Beecher which I picked out the winner Chambard at 16/1 and the fourth at similar price but left it and didn't have a penny on.
I like the 2 Nicholls horses here IL RIDOTO 7/1 and MONMIRAL 6/1. Key tend tends to be having placed chase form already whether that be at the festival or in a similar handicap chase. You do tend to get the same old familiar faces in these races. MONMIRAL when last running at Cheltenham was behind The Real Whacker who went on the win the Broadway. He's had a wind op and was highly tried last season. Il Ridoto was 3rd in Paddy Power Chase last month which is the best guide generally to this race. This race has been won by the likes of Coole Cody and Frodon won it twice so horses can win several of these premier handicaps in their racing careers like both these did. Nigel Twiston Davies usually has a good record in the handicap chases so Torn and Frayed might be worth a look dispite falling last time out off a long break.
There are a couple of horses notably Singlefarmpayment and Spiritofthegames who would usually run admirably in these types of races but developed a worrying habit of not winning one. This is my concern with Fugitif who has finished 224 in handicaps at the track this year including when being beaten by Il Ridoto. BorIng and obvious but its about finding winners GLA :)
Mine today 14.50 MAHER MISSION 9/1 BILL BAXTER 20/1 on Exchanges 1 pt win each GLA :)
Thanks Harry good luck this evening. Couple today 14.20 CRAMBO 7/2 15.00 PROTEKTORAT 9/4 GLA :)
Mate of mine loves bumpers don't know why but I love a decent veteran's chase 15.15 JIMMY THE DIGGER 5/1 GLA :)
