Can't see Saudi and OPEC agreeing to a price much lower than we know they need just to keep Trump happy, more likely a cut to keep supply in balance and the price stable coupled with a commitment to increase as iranian crude is taken off the market, remember also Russia said they are comfortable with 70 dollar oil, well it is now nowhere near that.

One crucial difference to 2014, we have had 4 years of massive capex cuts in new field developnent, nobody thinks shale can do it all.

Would make a nice early Christmas present, fingers crossed....and everything else.

Read an article in the FT just over a week ago saying drop in oil price looked overdone, it was 69 dollars then, and now? These so called experts really crack me up, a sobering thought though, we are now within 10 dollars of the price below which pmo said sealion would not be sanctioned.

Hi Stepptoe, oil looked like it was stabilising yesterday until Trump stuck the boot in, he seems incapable of staying out of anything, a real narcissistic control freak, hopefully OPEC will ignore him, I think they will. If trump thinks the US can still economically dictate to the world I think he is wrong, a lot has changed in the last 20 years.
