As most retail platforms won't let you do a dummy sell if you don't hold stock, having a small number of shares gets around this. Dummy sell/buys are a good to judge MM sentiment

Explain to me how an idiot paying 1.44 for 130 shares in an auction that MMs play NO part in signals large order fills

CS you can't do it with most retail trading platforms. You need what may be considered a professional platform that provides Direct Market Access (DMA) then you place a DMA buy or sell order. This order will only become active at auction time. If 2 people buyer/seller got together you could almost guarantee a trade. It would be ore difficult if there were lots of DMA orders, but with this share there is typically 6 or so

The reason people are not manipulating auction price trades is because it has no effect. The only time an auction price should be considered is if it was for say 100k shares. The MMs will ignore a small trade UT price and open at whatever they feel is right

The UT trades are nothing to do with MMs it's just a cheeky PI. Anyone could have placed it at any price they felt like

It's a trade at auction for 130 shares. The auction is a 5 minute period after close. Closing auctions are meaningless. I could have made a trade for 160 or 110 if I wanted to

Also if a share has a large movement up or down outside a set percentage an auction is actioned at any time. But bottom line is 99% of the time auctions tell you nothing, so ignore them

At Auction an attempt is made to match a buyer and seller price that would result in the highest quantity of shares being traded. Important to note this does not mean the highest price. If the result of the auction is a price outside an average percentage of an earlier non auction price, a time extension is actioned to the auction. This can happen 2 more times

In my HL SIPP it transferred automatically ages ago. Contact your broker

I suspect that HL have exclusive agreement with one or two MMs. I have a SIPP with HL and a Pro platform with IG. Often I get NT with HL but if I try with IG I get offers from say 2 or 3 of the 6 MMs. I suspect HL are getting a kick back or bonus from putting all their business through those MMs

Where are you getting this from the broker plays no part in a trade other than passing on a MMs offer. MMs are effectively a second hand shop for shares and that is who you trade with. If you have access to DMA and the share is on SETS you can deal direct. But AVCT isn't
