Sorry chaps & chapesses but this *****ing really HAS to STOP.
I am finally, slowly starting to recover from Covid-19. I can tell you that I am lucky and that the fight was as hard as you can ever imagine. We have been informed for years that a GLOBAL pandemic was on it's way, NOT if, just a mater of WHEN. So now it's here and if we ALL play by the current rules we can STOP it in it's tracks, we are intelligent human beings. Let's all stop being self centered and greedy for starters. We are ALL in this together. For me I went to a wedding, my dear sweet great nieces were the little bridesmaids. They had their hair braided by a lovely lady in Edinburgh for the wedding. Of course I cuddled them, I adore them. But sadly the hair braiding lady already as infected. The girls showed no symptoms, but are unwitting carriers. We have yet to learn the devastation that this has caused in total, but in the fullness of time no doubt I will get all the information. Both myself and the hair lady felt quite queasy on the evening of the reception. She is now recovered, but not before passing it to her husband. He was hospitalised and after a few dodgy days is showing signs of recovery . The hair lady is now fully recovered. I stayed an extra day and had dinner with my sister on my last evening. She is fine and was never infected. I came home, felt a bit queasy, but put that down to the strain of the journey. I am not a young man! The following morning, my wife and I decided to go into voluntary isolation (before the rules). Since ten I have had the most unpleasant two weeks of my life. No energy was the easy bit, the asthma attacks made me feel as though I as drowning underwater. My temperature has ranged at best from 37.5 C to at worst 39.9 C. Believe me that's too close to passing out and saying goodbye. So all I ask is SANITY, only self isolation will stop this pandemic. If there are no bodies close by, the virus has no other human to JUMP to. Then it will eventually slowly die out. But we all, the human race need to concentrate on what is important. STOPPING this virus in it's tracks. If we do, then all the *****ing on here and elsewhere may stop quite quickly. As humanity will have used it's brain and done the right thing to prevent any further spread. Try watching the following video. It's a bit long, but in great humour shows us ALL what we need to do. Let us all, each and every one of us do our bit to bring back the planet that we know & Love. Good luck to you all. This will be over eventually and together we can do our bit to help it end quicker. GLA and best regards. Peter x

Hi Dogger, Years ?? I've been here half a lifetime!!
Now, with one foot in the grave I have more innovative thoughts than ANY (that I am aware of) on the current PFD board, or for that matter in the past 18 years.
GLA - Pete (across the little pond) Oh yes Europe, your friends.
Remember us??
BTW. Massive Vegan and GF market over here.
Well why not, they sold off the family silver with Quorn ??
It seems to have given "Greggs" a nice fat boost, or so we understand from today's results !!
Come on PFD. Create, Innovate, make big fat profits. There is a massive market out there.
Just waiting for some FORWARD thinking clever people.
Vegans do exist, this is 2020 !
Stop sitting in the 19th and 20th century. !!
WAKE UP, smell the coffee, "innovate". Someone must have the brains! Make lottsa money.
My 10 pence worth !!!
So many political mistakes and broken promises. It's like the huge mistake that a certain health minister made in the late 1940s. It has caused great controversy ever since. Aneurin Bevan announced to the country that the NEW National Health Service would ALWAYS be "Free at the point of Use". Sadly this has STUCK until the present day.
We all know that there is no such thing as a free lunch. Of course, EVERYONE should be treated with good 21st-century health care, no matter what their income or affordability. We as a society do not leave people to suffer or die due to their financial circumstances. BUT in the end, ALL health care MUST be paid for. I say this as a left-leaning Liberal. I have lived in The Netherlands for 35 years. I have always paid, now as a pensioner, I pay €170 per month, plus 4% of my gross income to the health service. I have had severe health problems and I can assuredly say that I am alive today due to the Netherlands health service. Anyone here who finds themselves in hardship is treated and covered for free. The rest of us happily pay for those that cannot afford it. Good modern health care costs a lot of money, there is no such thing as a free lunch. The very idea of "Free Broadband" for all is a joke. It means that it would be funded out of general taxation. Very quickly the funding would dry up through lack of investment. If we are to live in a capitalist world (I see no other option) then we need the incentive for companies to invest in modern infrastructure. We all know that if you work for any company that makes a loss, it will not be long before you have no job. The company will fail. So I cannot understand why ANY political party would suggest that we should live in a 21st-century Marxist utopia? It simply will NOT WORK as it removes the incentives for individuals to work hard and prosper. In my working life, I worked 84 hours a week, 12 hours a day and seven days a week. This for periods of around 3 months, I was a freelancer and needed to be the best at my job to ensure a follow on contract. I loathe the idea of the UK having YET ANOTHER "nasty party" (Tory) government. One that cares NOT for working people. But then the so-called Socialist Labour party comes out with insane ideas that remove all incentive for people to work hard and contribute to society, I find myself at a loss. Between the Devil and the deep blue sea. Sanity really needs to return to the UK. Far too many lies and a bunch of deceit from our politicians. Far too many lies and fake news bandied about on social media. Surely, SANITY must prevail. The UK is on a rocky path, do not be deceived by the liars and the cheats.
Sorry to rant on chaps & chapesses, but it beggars belief at what I am currently seeing and have been seeing it since 2010 and before. I suspect that we all need to wake up. British politics is BROKEN.
You may not share all my views, but try to give it some thought. I respect all opinions.

(Reuters) - Britain's Premier Foods Plc (L:PFD) reported higher first-half adjusted pretax profit on Tuesday, benefiting from the relaunch of Mr Kipling cakes last year and strong sales of Nissin noodles.
The Bisto gravy and Oxo cube maker, which shuffled its top management earlier this year, said adjusted pretax profit rose 5% to 31.7 million pounds ($40.56 million) for the six months ended Sept. 28.
"Following this encouraging start to the year, with its marketing investment and exciting innovation programmes, the Group has increased confidence of building on this momentum to deliver progress in the full year and beyond," the company said.
The company, which is targeting additional, largely operational cost savings over the next two years, said it sees options regarding its future cash deployment.
Premier Foods said Nissin Soba Noodles & Cup Noodles, which it sells in a partnership with Nissin Foods Holdings (T:2897), enjoyed an exceptionally strong growth trajectory with its sales growing 111%.
The company appointed UK business chief Alex Whitehouse as the company's new chief executive officer in August, after Gavin Darby left in January because of shareholder pressure following a drop in the share price after a takeover attempt by U.S. food maker McCormick & Co Inc (N:MKC) fell through three years ago.
The company also appointed Colin Day from Reckitt Benckiser (L:RB), where he was the chief financial officer, to be its new chairman, and appointed Duncan Leggett as its finance chief, filling a leadership void at the group.
Premier Foods on Tuesday announced more executive changes, with a new chief customer officer, chief marketing officer and operations director to deliver sharper focus in those areas. It removed the UK and international managing director roles.
Investing.com -- Here is a summary of the regulatory releases from the London Stock Exchange on Tuesday, 12th November. Please refresh for updates.
Vodafone (LON:VOD) raised its profit guidance for the fiscal year ending in March after returning to profit in the three months to September.
The telecoms company reported organic service revenue growth of 0.3% in the first half and forecast adjusted core earnings for the year of 14.8-15.0 billion euros ($16.3-$16.5 billion), up from a previous forecast of 13.8 to 14.2 billion. Excluding one-offs, earnings would be at the top of the prior range.
However, the company also trimmed its free cash flow forecast to “around” 5.4 billion euros from “at least” 5.4 billion earlier, due to potential liabilities arising from legal issues in India.
CEO Nick Read said he expected the trend of revenue growth to continue in the second half, citing an “improved consistency” of its performance and the rapid integration of its Liberty Global (NASDAQ:LBTYA) acquisition.

No Comment !!! But this really is the pits. We all know that it has value. But WE are never going to reap the rewards. Just some asset stripper along the way. How VERY SAD !! Pete x
When will we see good news ? Little snippets here and there, but not exactly earth shaking. What really gets to me over these past years is things like Quorn. Sold off at a bargain basement price and now available all over Europe and who knows where else. They seem always to start something that has potential, but they just don't have the vision that a really good CEO would bring. That surely is the art of good business, to lead yes, but also to listen. Even things that have been said on this board over the years have merit. So c'mon PFD. PULL YOUR FINGER OUT. You have some solid brands, hows about a working group to think of good new brands and their future potential. But what have we had ??? Theresa May & Jeremy Corbyn sitting firmly on the fence with their hands tied behind their back. PFD, you need a mover and a shaker that is NOT going to bleed us all dry financially and have useless ideas, like the last one. Good Luck all. Still living in Hope, but the way it's going I'll be dead before this share price turns around. Peter in the Dam x

Interesting, seems like they want to break out to more International markets. But first get some new or revamped lines, I would suggest.

Mr. Kipling parent company, Premier Foods, is grabbing a slice of the vegan pie – literally. It’s announced plans to launch a vegan dessert range.
Premier Foods announced the plans, “in response to current consumer trends.” Acting CEO Alistair Murray made the announcement in the company’s annual financial results, which were published last week.
The new range, which will be called ‘Plantastic’ will come under the “Desserts, Cake and Soup categories.” Though there are currently no details on which products it will include, the company revealed it would use “plant-based ingredients.”
The group is looking at “targeting the growing trend of consumers looking for plant-based and vegan products” with the new range.
I have to say I find the name ‘Plantastic’ to be really disastrous. Who advises the board on such matters ?
Far too close to "PLASTIC" for my liking.
The word "vegan" should surely be a part of the name !!
Good luck to all.

Giles Turrell for CEO ??
Is he the Knight in shining white armour that we have all been waiting for? I have no idea !! But, his track record is a whole lot better that Mr Darby. I would not be upset with taking a punt on him !! At 52 years of age, born December 12, 1966. I would like to take a gamble on his good governance. He plays his cards close to his chest. So difficult to google his DOB. But there it was for all to see if you dug deep enough. Mine?? Don't bother, I really am too old !!! I wait and I see, but I am NOT selling yet !! Pete xxx
Do we assume GD has now totally gone ?
I seem to remeber the end of January being mentioned.
A very quiet departure, tail beteween his legs I woulkd think. He should be ashamed of his record at PFD.
Any news of a replacement? Or is someone on the board already acting as interim CEO?
Pete
