I would just like to share an experience from yesterday
I took my father who is an avid fan of the opera to see Mozart's Don Giovanni at the Wales Millennium Centre, before it began the Director came out to advise us that the main character was played by a Ukranian whos family were still in Kyiv, there were loud applause from a packed theatre. His performance was brilliant, not personally a fan of opera myself but I found it extremely moving to see this man who must have been struggling with the thoughts of his family to still carry on and perform as he did. There were tears falling down his face as he received at the end the standing ovation for several minutes.
I say they are a very strong people and deserve huge respect for the fight they are putting up.
about 14 million i think so where are they?
14 m volume on its own would be a good day during the last few months, sickening that they are not reported in a timely manner, MMs making the most of this
Shocking day for us all on Eurasia as well of course as the innocent people being caught up in this reckless invasion, a very very sad time indeed
Good luck to all investors, hope we have better days to come
“February 15 2022 will go into history as the day western war propaganda failed,” Maria Zakharova, the Russian foreign ministry spokeswoman, wrote in a Facebook post after the announcement. “They have been disgraced and destroyed without a single shot being fired.”
I think the service offered to clients has gone dramatically downhill, you can't bed and isa or bed and sipp and there are no live prices. When I telephoned to speak to them about it, I was told they don't have the staff to do it, I mean really, do they not make enough profits to take on staff as necessary to provide a decent service.
It's a hassle to change brokers and move accounts but I will be doing so in the near future. I imagine many of their clients don't wish to change because of the difficulties in doing so, better the devil you know, but I'm sure new investors will be going elsewhere
Unfortunately can't do by phone either, you have to sell in one account, wait 2 working days for funds to clear, move across to ISA and buy. Personally I feel their service has gone very much downhill and will move my accounts as soon as practicable, just don't want to risk being out of this at the moment.
Gosh I hope the stalwarts of the BB haven't had to put up with this kind of nonsense all weekend.
Deano, thanks for the elementary maths lesson but not relevant here.
How about .....
80% of billions could be life changing for many or
Once a twat always a twat
A little rise would be nice but it's all about the end game, manipulation, deramping, none of it will matter in the end, great opportunity if you have a bit of spare money though.
Shares worth today same as they were worth on Friday according to the markets that is, obviously we all know their true worth will be revealed in time but portfolio value, no change despite this false red day.
Ideally this is what I would do Caw thanks for advice, but only have Eurasia shares in SIPP. I will see what monies i can scrape together, add to SIPP to buy then sell to cover in share account, going to have to do it bit by bit but as you say I just don't want to risk being out for 2 days
Thank you Calamari, I had considered selling in tranches but the price is currently highly volatile and I expect it to be going in an upward direction from here on in. The benefit of Bed and ISA or SIPP is that the transactions are done almost simultaneously so generally would just lose a few shares.
HL Grrrrrrrr
I went online having decided to Bed and SIPP only to find the service is not available currently due to reduced staff.
So what to do, I can sell myself in fund and share account, wait two days and transfer to SIPP but obviously don't want to be out for 2 days, what a nightmare.
After speaking to HL for some considerable time, they advised that if I am financially out of pocket because the service isn't available then I will be compensated. Hmmmm not sure about that
No worries Travis, personally I was delighted yesterday to have made it back in the blue to finish the year, I have a good feeling it's gonna stay that way now.
I can hardly wait for Tuesday, strange how I used to love the weekends and holidays but now just look forward to opening of the markets. Sad but true
Sorry Travis but he said he first bought at 2p so even buying at 30p his average could still easily be 20p could it not or have the new year tipples killed off my brain cells.
Anyway Happy New Year to everyone, looking forward to a better 2022
It is frustrating, we are where we opened yesterday when it has been spelled out for us that a part sale is coming and probably soon. Transformational news that really should have seen us higher than where we are now.
Every time the bid ticks up so the sells pour in, people trading, hoping to gain a few extra, this has been the case for the whole year. Many investors here are fortunate to have so many shares that they have a trading pot so if they miss the big rns it doesn't really matter as they hold so many anyway. But if everyone could just hold the price would be pushed up, I can't see anyone selling out on todays news, it's just traders.
Will be interesting to see the short position tomorrow, I imagine many are closing today
Good luck all
