AIM4 - Central Government has also a great deal of control over Council Tax.

Business rates are set by central government, which sets the multiplier, a pence in the pound value which is then applied to the rateable value, an estimate of the open market rental value a property could achieve on a specified date. Properties with a rateable value of £12,000 or less are exempt from business rates and those up to £15,000 are eligible for small business rates relief. There are other reliefs and exemptions, including an 80 per cent discount for properties used by charities.

Currently local government, collectively retains half of the income from business rates, the other half is paid by councils to central government, which uses the income to fund grants to local authorities. Property valuations for both council tax and business rates are the responsibility of a national body, the Valuation Office Agency (VOA). Property valuations for business rates are updated on a five-year cycle. The most recent revaluation came into force in April 2017, based on property values in April 2015. Asos Interim Results for the six months ending 28 February 2021 are out next week on Thursday 8 April 2021.

The symmetrical triangle trend pattern for the Boohoo share price started forming in July last year after the undercover article in The Times.

Hopefully, the release of the second report by Sir Brian Leveson QC and the UK Supplier List along with the release of the final year results on 5 May 2021 will be the catalysts to get the Boohoo share price out of this symmetrical triangle trend pattern.

There are lots of ways to analyse and believe me it takes a lot of time and effort to get it all done.

I recommend you read a book called Rule 1 investing by Phil Town and listen to his podcasts about checklists. (Buffet Style Investing).

There is a great way to do an initial assessment on a company to evaluate the quality of the business and the management and that is what Phil Town calls the big 5 numbers. All of these should be above 10% as a rule. It is virtually impossible to find companies that hit the figures at present, but BOO exceeds in all 5 areas (at time of my initial analysis a few months back). Rates here are averaged over 5 years!

Return on Invested Capital (ROIC) 21.5%. (how much money it can make with the money it has)
Sales Growth Rate 45%
Earnings per share Growth Rate 26.7%
Book to Share Growth Rate 26.6 %
Free Cash Growth Rate 35%.

This, as always, is intended for open debate. I will never tell anybody right or wrong because it doesn’t exist in this game. But you can load the dice in your favour to buy an amazing business at a discounted price which is where I believe we are right now with BOO.

Analysts have estimated 30% growth for the next 5 years for Boohoo Group compared to the actual 45% growth for the last 4 years.

Analysts have already priced in lower growth for Boohoo Group for next five years.

The estimated earnings per share (eps) by Stockopedia for final year results ending 28 February 2021 is 8.56p

So 8.56p x 1.3 x 5 is 55.64p. 55.64p is the estimated eps in five years time, i.e. 2026. The 1.3 is the calculation used for the 30% growth. The 5 is for 5 years.

To work out a future estimated share price for 5 years i.e. 2026 then it is 55.64p which is the future estimated eps x 52.7 which is the average pe. This works out at a future estimated share price in 2026 of £29.32

So Boohoo Group need to grow their eps each year by 30% to get to a share price of £29.32 in five years i.e. 2026

If the eps growth each year of 30% is lower then the future share price will be lower.

If the eps growth each year is higher than 30% then the future share price will be higher.

Please remember analysts are using an estimated growth of 30% for the next five years for Boohoo Group.

So analysts have already priced in lower growth of 30% for Boohoo Group for next five years compared to past growth of 45% over the past 4 years.

Analysts guess too and call them estimates like estimated revenue, estimated growth, estimated share price target, etc.

They base their estimates on past performance too.

An additional benefit of the hub is Leicester factories and approved overseas factories being on internal systems that identify weekly production capacity by factory, allowing a check on how much is being made for boohoo and where. If a factory is exceeding capacity, the hub would raise a ‘red flag’ regarding transparent and ethical production and identify potential capacity for new work - from the second report.
