It would be great if the UK produced 100% of its energy needs, but the current problem is global pricing and fracking isn't a quick fix for bills, and may not be a fix at all.

Strangely domestic production is more than 50% of the gas consumed in the UK over a year and during the middle of the year 100% of consumption - is there any expectation producers will then dramatically drop prices for UK customers? It's simplistic to demand that the UK produces 100% of the gas it needs as that will require a lot of capacity expensively developed but not used in the summer and the UK has little storage to cover swings in demand.

BTW can anyone tell me when, if fracking was allowed from tomorrow, it would be likely to lower gas bills? I don't disagree with fracking but if anyone is supporting this expecting gas bills to be lowered any time soon because of it will be disappointed.

The government suspend VAT on gas sales to consumers and the green levy but the green levy funds insulating poorly insulated houses, which is counter productive to overall usage. Perhaps those companies should be looked at that currently produce gas (and oil) in the UK (over 50% of UK consumption) and then sell it to consumers at inflated prices - production costs won't have massively risen.

Seems just an excuse to allow ANGS that Adrian's invested in to frack - or at least ramp the share on the basis fracking might work in a well with natural fractures that wasn't tested because of the influx of water.

The onshore UK just doesn't have the geology - I realise you know nothing about this most important of factors in oil and gas exploration and think like a child that if you say something enough it will come true - life is not like that.

You also seem to think everyone else is as unknowledgeable as you are.

All the UK O&G basins have been explored and drilled extensively. You may have believed the stuff that UKOG claimed, new technology, missed by majors etc. - look what happened - despite your thousands of posts before being banned claiming (relatively) huge production and profits and shouting down anyone that didn't agree.

If the government is serious it needs to allow testing of fracking to recommence away from housing in multiple locations to prove it works and is safe - because despite a tory MP claiming it won't cause localised 'earthquakes' it can - perhaps he would personally indemnify any fracking company from claims - but seriously maybe the government could to help the case for fracking.

There are no gas resources until the extraction method is proved to work, and even if it works in one place it may not elsewhere. The government stopped the testing for political reasons. Until it's proved to work then all this MSM shouting is so much hot air. To claim it's the solution to all our problems falls into the same trap as anyone claIming wind and solar are the solution.

Nuclear should certainly be in the mix, but that also requires massive subsidies and perhaps just as important reduce demand by ensuring homes are properly insulated.

I also see he 'believes' (where do I keep seeing that on this board) it would lead to lower bills - maybe, assuming it works (why do I have to keep saying that on this board?), but when - from a start that is yet to happen, and why with a globally priced commodity? It's a complex problem and involves long term government resolve which has been sadly lacking though a solution tht involves no real action or government expenditure today should appeal as the current crisis will at some point be resolved - will any policies adopted be quietly dropped when the shouting has stopped or another crisis evolves - only to discover the next time energy prices rise nothing has really been done?

Quoting MSM papers and Njgel 'what's the latest bandwagon to try to make myself look relevant' Farage when they will move on to the next populist 'cause' at the drop of a hat isn't seriously considering the problem - it's headlines not solutions.

Of course your posting history here is limited because of being frequently banned and you even managed to have your original twitter account removed so the evidence of your misleading and downright nasty posting over the years is conveniently removed. Although on this visit you've managed over 1,100 posts in just over a month.

But Russia isn't communist and the greens accepting cash is effectively a rumour from a single source who wouldn't substantiate the claim saying it was his 'interpretation'. I'd say almost all UK green activists would be horrified if any funding was shown to be from Russia.

As for Chinese money - I think I would say those politicians aren't the government with a large majority. I also did say earlier that I think the conspiracy theories about the Russian money influencing Conservative policy is probably just that - though the ennoblement looked a bit dodgy - I'd keep off mentioning connections with spies. As for Ed Davey - who was the PM then (hint - David Cameron), the LibDems didn't decide anything - perhaps more stupid was going into government with the Conservatives.

Where have I said, inferred or suggested I'm in favour of imporrting Russian gas - though most of UK imported gas is from Norway - Russian gas is a few percent - probably 6% - in fact UK exports gas during the summer as the UK has little storage capacity - the government removing subsidies to keep Rough going so it closed in 2017.

So when do you think (if you think 2030 is wrong) if fracking was permitted tomorrow there would be significant enough volumes of gas produced (assuming it worked). It isn't supporting Russian gas (surely you mean Norwegian) to point out the bl**ding obvious that it takes years to drill the number of wells that might be needed and get them into production, and with fracking keeping them in production. Not being cheap to frack the price may need to be high anyway so may not be a solution to price (depending on flow rates) rather than dependancy on imported gas.

But it was your (once upon a time) beloved Boris who made a political decision to not upset voters rather than making a strategic decision - that's where your anger should be directed. If the fracking trial had been allowed to continue we would at least have an answer from one site and know rather than hope.

The view that there has been Russian backing for anti-fracking comes from one person's opinion in 2014 - maybe it's right, no one really knows, but the Conservatives have definitely accepted money from Russian oligarchs. If from what you're saying accepting Russian cash is an arrestable offence the list of MPs is a matter of public record.

As far as Brockham is concerned not exactly sure that fracking, when the problem was water ingress to the extent they didn't even test the well, would be the logical answer - maybe a bit of 'puff' to help the SP in case Saltfleetby screws up - mind you the company will be bankrupt in days if it can't deliver the hedged gas. Funny thing is I 100% agree fracking for gas should have been properly tested - and then it would be known whether it will work or not in the Bowland shale despite assertions it will definitely be the solution to UK's supply problems it may not be. Even if successful it wouldn't be significant for years (yes it should have happened years ago) but will it be too late to help, and will it help consumers? Currently UK produces more than 50% of gas consumed domestically, haven't noticed that half my gas bill is at pre-rise prices so unless the government starts controlling prices (not so good for producers) it will make no difference to consumers if global prices are still high.

Not sure about the Weald oil though - probably won't work - if you think UKOG and Angus say they won't frack because they're 'green' or care about the local residents you've probably fallen for 'greenwashing' PR.

it's a shame that LSE don't archive your posts from your previous visits under different guises so that the utter rubbish you spout and the similarities in the way you fill the board with post after post of the same nonsense time and time day after day can be seen - exactly as you have this time - the similarities would be blindingly obvious.

Yep, worked it out - it was a pump and dump - otherwise the SP would still be 0.17p as there's been no negative news since - in fact there was the brilliant news that SS had spend £1000 on shares in the company he runs so well - and of course it then dropped to below 0.105p to buy a few days later.

Looking good for traders of course.

Today about £4000 of shares in trades over 0.15p while the spread was 0.11p to 0.12p (total trades today £100,000+) - only £3.16p worth actually at 0.12 - in 2 trades - 2 at exactly the same time (though these simultaneous trades are usually at both extremes of the spread and usually quite a lot of trades). But not much comment on twitter which is a P&D indicator.

As for charting, breaking an average, when a share has been as low as UKOG's has for so long, a small movement can clear it - though it didn't today, and as the SP has been low for a very long tme the averages converge. As for RSI it's just echoing that the SP rises quicker than it drops without more news, worth remembering.

There always has been a vast difference between what UKOG RNS as possible future prospective production and when we arrive in that future.

Will the Turkish adventure prove transformational? UKOG has never backed up that opinion with any appropriate information quoting OIP and perhaps dodgy reserves (as suggested by AME) for the adjacent lookalike producing field, but not the production from that field which is from multiple wells - and huge reserves for totally different reservoirs in another country as if it was relevant.

An honest evaluation of what may be likely based on E Sadak wells might not be as transformational as many hope even at an OP of $110 (which is probably only sustainable for a short while) - and that's if it's successful.

Why would I?

those that work full time on rigs or offshore installations probably aren't knowledgeable in the disciplines that determine where to drill or analyse the results. But there will be visitors that are.

But someone who got invited once into a drill site and given the BS spiel by SS ,and then spent the rest of their life staring in from the outside, thinks they're an expert, passing judgement on other's opinions and making unjustified claims.

Funny isn't it that Adrian's first love DL returns when he's fallen out of love with SS - for doing to him exactly what DL did - once an fool etc.

DL knows more about the smell of mugs and their money than HH having left UKOG in 2015 when all those extravagent BS claims were being made - mostly by him.

As regards the article from September 2019 - it's from 2019! and councils have limited powers regarding what UKOG do in the subsurface - and of course HH-1z was never drilled.

Unless UKOG choose to tell we shall never know the reason that HH-2 wasn't deepened, nor HH-1z drilled.

In the meantime I had thought that UKOG had stated somewhere that HH-3 would be deepened to look at the Kimmeridge but can't find it in any RNS, though if UKOG did keep to the deadline and commence the appraisal of the Kimmeridge by 22 September they will need to raise some cash. Both 3 and 4 were being planned as slant wells but there's been no recent mention of them.

'I believe'? either check it or don't post it. The IGas 2020 CPR only has net contingent resources to IGas of about 12BCF so are only in their licence. UKOG's figures are described as recoverable resources in the RNS about the Xodus study.

UKOG haven't even done anything with the HH-1 Kimmeridge - the only well to test any significant volumes of oil from the Kimmeridge out of 5 attempts (Brockham, Balcombe, Lidsey, Broadford Bridge and HH) - whether or not they 'discover' oil in the Kimmeridge at Loxley (as it's a source rock oil shows almost guaranteed) chances are the result will be at best the same as HH - allowing testing that suckered in investors.

The plan was to test Kimmeridge production methods at Loxley - neatly kicking any further work at BB into the long grass - has UKOG applied for extension to the site retention permission for BB that runs out next month?
