Stockportfred - in the vast majority of cases those large buys/sells that are reported late in the day have actually been placed earlier (sometimes days), so their effect has already been felt on the MM’s order books

It’s not manipulation, it’s how the market works

I know I’ll get jumped on for saying this, but if anyone genuinely doesn’t know the difference between nominee accounts and institutional investors they really shouldn’t be investing in shares until they’ve done a hell of a lot more research

If, however, they do know the difference and are trying to mislead the likes above, they should be ashamed of themselves

Maybe that’s what has made him a good CEO for VAST, finding a way to keep on raising money - it’s worked for the company as it’s still here but it’s been a total s@@t show for anyone actually trying to invest rather than trade

Personally I think the difference is those who are ‘comfortably off’ will show a smaller inflation rate, as the spending on essentials (which have shown very high rates of inflation) take up a much smaller proportion of their outgoings than people who are worse off - that also explains why your jewellery sales aren’t particularly affected at the moment (and probably the holiday market too)

Compare those on a median average income to those on a modal one - I don’t have the numbers to hand but I believe it would be sobering

As the last five trades are off-book and the last two late reported, the only way you can know they are definitely a buy is if you placed them.

Yet again VAST does a placing in two tranches - perhaps the likes of InvestingGenius knows how many of the first 58 million have been forward sold on a T20 or similar

That’s how VAST keeps getting away with it imo, the ‘blessed’ get the first tranche, make a profit from forward selling and are thus willing to participate in the next one. The others are left with the overhang to deal with

Look at previous placing RNS’ - the pattern is there- not sure how the Nomad justifies it though….
