I am no wiser or more sensible than you Iwgrod...i break all rules of investing by having a few outsized eggs rather than risk spread evenly. Because I believe (hope?) that one of those said eggs will hatch into something that will make a meaningful difference to my life. The great investors will all say that you should take a minimum of a 3 year view when investing...I am roughly 1/2 the way thru that 3 years...but the reason I re-invested (and broke more rules about averaging down etc!) was I felt we have seen good news flow over the past 6 months and that the company was specifically raising money to fulfil orders it was receiving and wasn't able to fill given its intended capital expenditure vs cash in the bank. but please, just because one idiot has built an oversized position in a tiny AIM stock, it doesn't mean he has any more info at his finger tips than you do.

Long story - a 'friend' who first recommended I look at CPX what 18 months ago and who owns substantially more than I do was approached by Allenby...he suggested they give me a call....Kencarv...we will have to disagree...all financial assets are correlated in some way...if we go back to the 'great crashes' of 2008 or 1998 or 1987, if there is a severe market dislocation even the safest of safe havens get hit...if every stock in your portfolio is down 25% do you think CPX can ignore what goes on around it...even if it doesn't sway you to sell it, it doesn't mean that another holder will think, wow its held up well, I'll sell it just in case someone does before me...all investing is driven by fear and greed...if you are one of those who can overcome both of those emotions, then hats off to you...but it is purely human psychology to sell the winners and run the losers...so please don't think CPX, despite all its news and recent fundraising can't fall lower...it can and it might...I for one hope you are right but if tech falls a further 20% it would be extraordinary if CPX didn't feel the chill winds.

I'm afraid the band have all been shot. Replacements have been ordered. The beatings will continue until morale improves (or we find out exactly what is happening behind the scenes, cos something's afoot!)....

...that these are unpleasant times in the markets. Dow -600pts overnight, Apple n Amazon being smashed, Apple's suppliers even more so. IQE I see has now fallen by over 50% from its highs. Whilst we are not connected with those individually,we are definitely by association. Those selling at 9p this am who knows, may well get the chance of buying back at 5-6p if the tech rout continues...a move like that would bring water to the eyes of the LTHs but - and this is the key to any investment - provided you don't need to sell, eg this is money you can afford not to see for a prolonged period of time, then as per all that has been said, this is a company that looks a sensible bet. And the chap selling it at 9p better hope that we don't come in tomorrow to a RNS providing OS the confirmation he needs! As per previous msgs, I'm in for the long haul, have to accept broader mkt for being what it is and keep all available digits crossed that CPX and its board deliver on the prospects.

Solve that conundrum and you solve for everyone where the SP should go to...I would argue the current level is probably about right...for the company to break even I believe we need sales of closer to 20mm...the bulls (of which I am one) would argue the existing contracts and pipeline should enable us to get there over the next 18 months or so...the kicker would obviously come from a +ve result from the patent court cases, where it is not inconceivable we could receive a multi mm cheque should the judge find in our favour (if we get to court?)...the recent fund raising was, I believe and as I have written before, in response to a decent order book with current capacity significantly below demand. Which all rather underlines my view - the SP will only go higher with real revenues on real contract wins...the building blocks are there, the money is there, its time for CPX to deliver the growth to justify a higher rating.

been off for a couple of days but read thru the posts...see my names up in lights twice...which is slightly worrying...I only posted to answer a few qs re the fund raising and why I have invested...yes I own plenty...and therefore stand to make or lose plenty! But its by no means a recommendation (and a look at my returns this year will confirm that!)...However, I do think the company is now fully funded to grow in able to meet demand...and I guess more importantly...the price action post raise has been heartening..eg stock into safe hands (there was I gather one new large Institutional buyer in the raise) and no churn. I must say I do have sympathy with poor old OS who's only sin, as far as I can see, is to voice his concerns on paper rather than let then fester in the dark corner of his imagination. For who does not wish to see real proof of revenue...he can be happily invested and still be concerned...just means if the good news come (when?) he can be pleasantly surprised and if it fails to arrive, conversely less depressed! But I don't think he should be pilloried in quite the way he is for speaking common sense.

I have a great deal of sympathy with your comment OS - the company does have the product...it has the cash...it has the clients...it does now need to have the ability to convert...which is why we are invested I guess...but your caution is fair enough...there is only so long a company can continue to be a great 'prospect'...

You see. I'm much more relaxed about those that hold a different view from me. The pessimists, bears, great unwashed, call them what you will, are either depressed because of what has happened in the past (understandable, no one likes being diluted) or are trying to get the SP down because they are short (brave given potential news but there we go) or have nothing better to do (sad, but possible) and want others to feel their misery.
For me, SLE will either make me a lot of money because of all that we have touched on over the past few weeks and months or i will join the ranks of the bitter and depressed as I have got it badly wrong. But in that event, it will be my mistake, my error of judgement and I really have no one else to blame other than myself. I certainly haven't been forced to buy any shares! So i suggest we loosen up a little and if we are right, then we can maybe enjoy a little schadenfreude! As I have little doubt my nose will be rubbed in it if we are wrong!

...we're arguing about recently...its patently obvious SLE's share price is drifting because of no 'official' announcement of the granting of the stock buyback...so we're back to the market (which comprises of optimists and pessimists, buyers and sellers call it what you will) drifting in light volume and valuing SLE at just cash and what is owed. In fact at today's spot FX and mid-mkt level we are trading below that value, which means the optimists are left waiting for news to prove their views and vice versa.
I personally think 'something' is happening behind the scenes - for eg, we haven't had any confirmation of what price the recent share transfer happened - did STt sell their shares at a discount to cost or did MWP pay up? Hard to know but that info probably quite important. In the meantime, we can just watch and speculate...with gentle abuse to and fro!

I think what I am suggesting is that there was a pressing need for new cash to be able to fill new orders that wasn't there before...as per my msg, it is very much my read-thru (and no one elses) that orders have come in of a size or magnitude that CPX's existing infrastructure could not cater for. I don't think the TDK announcement per se was the driving factor, what i am saying is that the results gave you a good look at the future and following those results demand has increased that needs filling.
I don't think you should assume there will be a RNS tomorrow saying 'huge new orders' by the way but why raise the money if no need...so I have assumed (speculated probably the exactly right word as I invested another chunk of change) that the order backlog is substantial.

sorry - missing an all important 'not' after the 'has' ref the SP...eg I am surprised the SP hasn't risen given the cash raise was done solely to increase capacity to fill demand...long winded... apologies

I think you are guilty of not being more forward thinking...don't forget, the placing was done to increase capacity...think outside the box...for a second...were the orders there when the SP was at 12p? EG, new orders? I'm just guessing...but patently no point taking new orders if you can't fill them...?? That's why I admit to being slightly surprised the SP has risen given the implication of why the money was raised and when it was...you would be right if the company used a large rise (such as the TDK news) the SP as an opportunity to raise some cash...but no point if there wasn't any use for that cash. We know there is now....

Ha - a fair point...at the time the market was quoted 9p-9.5p (I think) ... but it was volatile...but my bid 'had to be good' for as long as the placing took...which was, what, 3 days in total...and thus why, at the end, they decided to place at 8.5p. I personally think the balance of price, size and speed of execution makes this a decent placing in a tough market environment...

I will try, as far as I can, to answer as many of the Qs that arose from my last post!
Size raised was AUD$3mm, £1.75mm which was the minimum the company wanted...I think they had appetite to do more but the markets were pretty grotty all of all last week and the bid for more was defo lower...and the company patently didn't ant to raise more money at a larger discount.
the initial subscription price was 9p, but with the market offered at 9p on Friday, the subscription happened at 8.5p which was the market bid...eg, whilst Kongats suggested an 8% discount, I reckon we subscribed for stock pretty much on the bid - eg no discount. I have posted before on here about the real bid/offer being too wide...I doubt the market got wind of the placing, as we would have been much much lower if it had...
I was invited to subscribe on Wednesday and was filled Friday at c-o-b.
I think the deal was well done by Allenby, I think in better market conditions they could have raised more. The company now has sufficient cash to ramp up production without breaching any covenants and there is patently decent demand for their - multiple - product lines.
And finally to answer Parkez's last point - I personally own over 1% of this fledgling company (which has been around for ages but finally seems to be reaching a new plateau). I have been an investor for > 2 years at or around these levels. Only by trusting the CEO and his vision can one justify having such a large position in such a small company. I expect to be invested for many years and hope one day to have some larger institution come asking for my stock at a substantial premium to this level,as I would never have bought more if I was 'just' hoping for a rise to 15p...but to bang on - again - it will take time. Patience dear friends...

HI Annie1, just to clarify...I was one of the investors who subscribed for more shares in CPX...I was approached by the broking house as I own > 1% of the company's equity. I can absolutely promise you and all other readers on this board that I was given no guarantees as to future orders / profitability as that would have been undeniably 'insider dealing'. I was, however, informed that the cash being raised was due to the fact that CPX did not have current capacity to fill a growing order book and needed more money for Capital Investment to fulfill demand. You can draw your own conclusions.
As I have posted (not many times) my investment in CPX will need the company to prove a +ve cashflow before I start to make a decent return on the risk I am taking. Sure, we get updrafts on days like TDK or Apple announcement, but what will truly drive the SP higher is orders being filled and revenue coming in...rather like what the poor chap who posts on here regularly has been saying and being abused for pointing out! The outlook is exciting, this company is at the forefront of some very exciting technology but to coin a phrase 'show me the money'...then we can start to build a forecastable future where the SP is driven by fundamentals rather than hope.

I reckon 8.5p a good price for 20mm shares...puts finances into place to build a supply chain that will cope with growing demand. Means not reliant on patent wins for cashflow. Company now in good place to accelerate growth. Now needs to prove this with orders. It doesn't mean that 8.5p is the floor, if the broader mkt continues to struggle CPX will as well until its accounts show revenues growing, sadly. But its all good news.

And one last thing - promise - but it is a slight 'fess up' to S8, but not quite a complement...she was absolutely spot on with her view of what our holding in OML / Eroton has paid us...the market values, as per below, SLE at $180mm. We are owed a further $146mm, we have $40mm in the bank and the loan accrues at 17%. In a rather extraordinary state of affairs, SLE is worth less than its outstanding loan, interest and cash in bank implying a negative value on BarryRoe and OML 18 and Polish Shale...it is abundantly clear, there is a lot of trust needing to be rebuilt as its not hard to see this company being valued at a more sensible valuation one day!

...in my first post where I admitted to being 'surprised' at the muted SP reaction so far, I am fully expecting hell and damnation to be rained down on me with those of a less than sunny disposition towards this company...in a ''why would you ever expect this SP to rise' kinda way!
