Im expecting the new CEO will be like every CEO before him - looking to "kitchen sink" it in his first year and blame everything on his predecssor - he will get one shot at this so it is likley to be this time - for that reason I am fearful. There is nothing in it for him to squeeze through this announcement with a "nothing to see here" approach only to find himself with his pants down at year end. Hope to be wrong, but am adopting the brace position for next week!

The January price has printed above the outside bar high of 657.80 and a February month close above 657.80 would act as a 2 month confirmation breakout. However in the meantime a daily close above the psychological level of 700, could be an interim entry point. The forecast future sp is calculated as September month outside bar range X2 added to outside bar high. The bullish position is supported by the two weekly bearish outside price bars of 8/12/25 and 12/1/26, where the later outside bar open and close remained above the earlier bearish outside outside bar open and close. Totally agree Smarty....absolutely baffling how the CFO hasn't had his backside handed to him. Presided over fundamental cost control failures, multiple profit warnings and continuing with a SBB when cash was tight. And still hasn't got his own money into the business. Should be long gone. But I'd be worried what a new, competent CFO would find if he did get the bullet.

Interesting idea, but if the Board did become aware of this and forced him out on Governance grounds, they would also have to inform the FCA and police as it would be blatant market manipulation, insider trading and criminal activity. So I'm hoping he was smarter than that?

Just read a piece in Property Week which talks about Interest Cover at 30 June potentially being the one they will struggle with. Low H1 profits, big daily debt pile. Looks like they've got 10 days to finalise their next statement. Any thoughts?

I appreciate your optimism Icecool. Believe me, I hope it comes to pass as I am in a very deep and very, very expensive hole with this stock. My fear is that shorters have bet 50m shares that this is toast. And I think it's a valid question to ask if they possibly know more than I do? Good luck to all here

Interested to see they have given their short position quite a trim yesterday as they were in for well over 3% of rhe company shares. Looks like others more than happy to take their place at the table...15% now in total....almost 50m shares. These guys are no mugs...they must know something is coming

Shorts actually went up to over 14% yesterday despite the 6% SP rise - so no evidence of them closing shorts. Perhaps a coincidence the Times smashed out another hit piece at 8.30pm last night to help them out. As you say, they must be sitting on huge profits - not clear if they think there is more bad news to come, or they are going to try to exit slowly without causing a stampede - which will be difficult on current trading volumes

I see they have posted another hatchet piece last night....clearly a conspiracy to attack "Labours Fabourite Builder"....should be invesigated by the FCA

Companies are required to tell the market when there is reason to believe results are going to materially deviate from expected levels. Does the absence of a profit warning give any comfort that this short attack is just opportunistic and that the company is getting on with business? Or do they know something that the company isn't telling us? Genuinely bemused at the SP here

The fact that they preface every hatchet piece with the sub-header "Labour's favorite housebuilder", and accompany it with a picture of Rachel Reeves wearing a Vistry helment on a site visit, gives oyou a strong hint why the Times has a visceral hatred for the company
