RE: Destination ?24 Feb 2023 10:50
Australia is by far the largest LNG supplier to Japan, accounting for 43% of the country's total
LNG imports of 71.998 million mt in 2022, up 15% from a year ago, according to Japan's Ministry
of Finance data.
In its proposed measures released Feb. 9, the Australian government said the objective of the
ADGSM, which applies across the country, is to ensure that there is a sufficient supply of natural
gas to meet the forecast needs of Australian gas consumers by controlling, if necessary,
LNG exports.
This comes at a time when there are persistent concerns about a shortage of gas supply in the
country's east coast market due to surging exports.

As posted the other day, it's all about to get hectic, as Australia can only meet the mixed message
PM's targets by taking and developing more assets, he stated, more for Australian consumption
but still wanted , Australia to maintain its leading position in the world Gas/LNG markets.
He can't have both, without Development of new assets.
China , Japan and Korea have all asked and given funding to their own industry
leaders, to go out and secure their own supplies.
Sunrise , Kelp 14.5 tcf and Chuditch, all sit with around 25-30 TCF potential on
their doorstep, with much more to find, in the undeveloped Timor maritime
area of the otherwise , developed and prolific Indonesian/Australia Timor sea
regions. GLA
