When looking to get a feel for the value of the assets of Sound a comparison with the assets of Anadarko in Africa, which Total is in line is to buy, might not go amiss. Add to that local difficulties in certain regions where the host country wants their share of the carcass. $8.8billion for a vast portfolio covering 70% gas, plenty of oil and a LNG project thrown in. Mr JayKay1, sorry for any offense caused. I was just trying to justify £1 rather 5p as there has been more of the latter in recent days. For balance I will try to justify 5p. Here goes. The share price has fallen to 10p after the failure of Sound to produce commercial tax from Te10, a high impact exploration well. Te10 took 5 months from beginning to end, and although showing all the right signs of was a total disappointment for everyone. That disappointment could carry over in a fall to 5p as time as much as value is important in shareholding. I think at 5p any opportunist company might see value in Sound as it would be valued at 20% of the nominal value of the Te5 Horst. The opportunist will buy as many shares in the open market as possible at 5p before making a bid at say 10p. The Sound BOD would then back the bid saying it was in the best interest of all shareholders. And no more Sound. I agree it is a possibility. Exciting times.

The TE-5 Horst discovery some might agree is worth 23p (based on 1tcf = 150p, $8/scuff, and NPV of 10%, and 50% recovery). The 1tcf = 150p could be improved to 1tcf = 198p with $9/scuff(Better GSA) and a NPV of 8% (the certainty the 25th March 2019 RNS brings) and 60% recovery. This could give the Horse a value of 33p.

We often forget that Sound is an exploration company. It drilled Te6/7 as appraisal wells. It drilled Te8/9/10 as (risky) exploration wells. It did not drill wells around SBK, TE-4 and TE-2 because these are already discoveries and Sound is an exploration company. But the model of appraising such discoveries has been shown to be successful with Te5. SBK, TE-4 and TE-2 have strong value based on the proven model. So too "new prospects M5 and B1". Appraisal wells are needed but that isn't Sounds business. Are another 33p for that whole bunch.

Add on the 20tcf in the basin model and I can see £1 easily achievable. Sound has explored Tendrara with limited success amittedly. But it's remit was to explore and not appraise. There is still great value in the assets. Don't underestimate its true value.

I do not think the 25% held by Onhym is bought by the new owner. Onhym will have 25% share of the new enterprise so the notional 25% is just carried over and no money changes hands. Therefore I think only the 47.5% held by Sound and the 27.5% held by Schlum is up for grabs. The new owners can only own 75% max. of the new company.
