Targets Construction Q4 Start for Taprobane Mineral Sands Project

- Capital Metals' Taprobane project in Sri Lanka boasts 17.6% average grade versus a global average under 5%, representing one of the world's highest-grade mineral sands deposits

- Sri Lanka approved its first national minerals policy since 1999 in February 2026, identifying mining as a key source of foreign investment following the country's debt restructuring

- Two mining licenses already secured with a 30-person team on the ground; construction could begin Q4 2026 pending final mining license approval

- Stage 1 requires $25 million capex ($18M debt, $5M offtake prepay) targeting $40 million annual revenue with $18 million all-in costs and 75%+ IRR

- Three-stage capacity expansion plan (125,000 tons concentrate each phase) with optional $10 million mineral separation plant enabling downstream value capture

What happened Ando, did they forget the attachment on the email?

Just having a look at their website. They had posted about building a plant in Morocco in August 24 that would take two years. Will be looking for raw materials at the end of the year or just into next year if the timetable slips a bit, sounds like just about the point we could start producing.

Saw someone called notamused recommend it to someone else on the CMET (not ramping here, but worth a look) board and had a look and quickly saw this had a real chance of kicking off, and yes it has!

Just took some time out of lying by the pool on holiday to check in on the last 2 days, looks like it's been fantastic!

I know most seem to have been in here for longer, but I've got my full year ISA cash for this year in at just over 7s, well done to those who have got in lower, or those in later, we are going to make some serious cash on this!

205 billion budget, chucking 150m here is absolutely nothing to them.

They have been watching China buy up parts of Africa for years so it makes perfect sense to swoop in on projects like this before China can get their hands on this.

Forget the 20-25p talk, if this goes early I'd be looking for double that.

This mine could be £50bn or more over its life, hopefully Mike and the board hold on for more than 150-200m.

It's only a matter of time before this skyrockets. Tomorrow should be through the £50m barrier hopefully and then what's to stop it, it's going to be a roll on to a much improved JROC, £2bn-£3bn? And then once finance announced this has to be well on its way to £200m +

That is a phenomenal article and emphasises what a great asset we have and with the further potential uses today it was good news. To me we have a stunning resource but we need more places to sell to within Europe who can handle the size of resource we have, so now with the additional diamond element it's more good news once we can get it out of the ground.

I admire your optimism. If we get taken out above 30p I'll be delighted. But hopefully just looking for a couple of good RNS is the next month or so to get us kicked off.

And, yes , hopefully we should be in a good place soon with the ML. Looks like the internal SL buying has already started today which hopefully signals that it's just a matter of if, not when.

Sheffield selling up and millions buying in from SL might be a fortuitous piece of luck.

Don't we all. If they keep up RNS after RNS it's to break out on it's way to the 33p broker target this year.

The great thing about CMET is we are so far ahead with the plans, as Greg has said this is a really simple process to set up and start extracting out.

To me this is an open goal for Sri Lanka to get the message out that they are open for business. Words are all good but when the building starts and the metals starting shipping off to China then the big companies will really believe and start investing.

Some big buys late this afternoon would suggest some updates coming soon.

It is probably the case lw, as this is way behind schedule, but eventually the resource is going to speak for itself and we are going to see a serious re-rate. Probably into next year though but I am just going to sit on my holding just now as I still have faith in the overall project.
