If they haven't fired - they would have to firstly retrieve them, then get a wire-line crew in to run new guns to perforate that section - but that should not be overly expensive. I haven't following here too closely, recently, as also interests elsewhere. However, as I remember the hole is fully cased. So there really shouldn't be too much problem.
NB I got fed up with all the bleating and mud-slinging on here, but HTHP wells can be an absolute b1tch to drill, test, and complete. They can quite easily run over six-fold - I know! Also, many of the problems were outwith VOG control - as is the most recent. That is the drilling industry through to production and supply, especially in Africa. .

I've never understood the gun problem - simply push them to the bottom of the hole [as one would always drill an extra 40-60 feet pocket] or it is a simple fish. The only problem would be if they have not fired, and still live, but again fish them, taking care. If they are differentially stuck, then a slight problem, but that happens only in open hole. This should be within casing.

If anything at all, this sluggish upward crawl is better than the slow slide downward, earlier in the year.
