RE: Owning Telfer + Havieron, following on from yesterday11 Mar 2024 17:46
Catching up so apologies if I have missed some of the threads; but my post is around the musings on here about NEM potentially changing their minds around divestment of Hav and Telfer.
IMHO they are not likely to change their minds. Sandeep may well have been and almost certainly WAS playing games in the 5% option stand-off, for example; however as others have said, we are not yet a Tier 1 (tho I believe we have the potential to become one ) and NEM have bigger fish currently to fry; need some readies post acquisition of Newcrest; and in Telfer they see a huge liability and are not 'agile' enough as a company to waste their time on it and a deep and as yet small new discovery (relatively speaking)
We will go for the lot if the BOD and SD have their way and become an agile mid tier miner and explorer. If Winu and other satellites eventually feed Telfer and we get new strike/s then SD WILL become Prince of the Paterson, and the gold price, the copper value , the cost savings in being a leaner operation and the conversion rate of our find at 86% and the net profits of having copper, amongst other minerals, will lend itself to future major profitability.
There will likely be many road bumps along the way, so I don't think it will be quick or easy. However, if it comes off we will all eventually be 'better' off.
