Hi all. I have been out of the loop for a few weeks, just dipping in and out of this board. I got bored with the petulant behaviour of many on here.

But, if someone could be so kind, could you update me on when we expect to hear the result of the yes / no vote, and then the detail of what will happen thereafter I would be genuinely grateful.

Is suspension being lifted at all?

Anyone else holding via Interactive Investor? I noticed that overnight they have reduced the share price of Wood Group to 0.00 - whereas previously it was showing as 18.44p - the price at which it was suspended. Anyone know what price other firms are showing?

What's impressive? I don't really understand these forms - what does it actually all mean?

Lots of opinions - some sensible, some wild, some just plain stupid. More are plain stupid than sensible or wild, sadly.

I can spot the idiots easily - text speak, poor grammar, angry prose. That filters out 80% of the posts.

The tricky bit is getting the right balance between the opinions of the remaining 20%. There are few that can be trusted.

But if, and it is a big if, you want to trust me, then my advice is stay calm and rational, not emotional. Be greedy when others are fearful (you've heard that one before for sure), and don't make rash decisions. Sometimes just doing nothing is the best course of action. Be patient, don't get angry and emotional. If you do, I think that things will work out well for you here.

You are an absolute tool - you really are. You are just playing the markets day-trading, and know absolutely nothing about how businesses operate.

I have just pocketed a substantial (and I mean 'substantial'!) sum from the sale of the business that I actually work for - I know how the sale process works, due diligence takes time, and I can see from the latest announcement that Wood Group are serious. An offer hasn't been formally made, but a sum has certainly been discussed, and if Wood Group were not serious then the process would have halted.

Back to your grimy lair, Sharebel, and stay there please.

I've been involved in situations where companies have either received a take-over offer, or have actively sought to sell themselves. I just wanted to share my thoughts.

I see today's RNS as being very positive. Sidara will 100% have told Wood Group what the likely offer is going to be. Wood Group would not have granted access to the due diligence information otherwise.

It is very likely that a secure 'data room' will have been created by Wood Group - and all of the information required by Sidara will have been deposited there. Sidara will be evaluating that information - and literally checking that everything is in order. This takes time, they will have M&A specialists looking at it for them, and they will almost certainly have questions, etc. This always delays the process, with the backwards and forwards of communications, etc.

In my experience, this process generally takes a minimum of around 4 weeks, often longer.

My advice here is to hold. I think that patience will, finally, be rewarded.

I read the posts last night about an opening price of 7p, 8p, 9p with interest and, to be frank, dismay.

There is a hell of a long way to go before peace is agreed here. Day trade it (ramp it / de-ramp it) for the pennies, for big gains or big losses just hold and sit tight.

What's hot with Sarah Lowther - Sarah is, very definitely! She brightens up a vitriolic group of rampers / de-rampers no end!

Having initially bought last year at about 7p, then topped up at 4.8p in the retail offer (full allocation given) I am pretty excited about where this is likely to go. It is certainly going well right now!

I really don't think that is true - their clients have been leaving in droves from certain areas of the business where they have totally underinvested.

Be careful what you believe - it is easy to pick and choose stats, read the small print!

New to the board, but not new to Capita - they have been a competitor for me at work for many years, actually more of a provider of strong sales leads, because many of their clients can't wait to jump ship.

Long-term, what do you guys think the chances are of a decent turnaround? I work with colleagues who are former employees of Capita, they are very negative as many bought shares via incentive schemes at £5, £6, £7, etc.
