So how much money do folk suggest this company needs in terms of debt reduction? This is a business which has always had high debt levels. That is the nature of the sector.

Wealth, you've kind of addressed the real point i was trying to make. There is no call on debt for at least 18 months. Talk of raises & stuff seems incredibly premature to me! The cost of debt is ATM perfectly manageable. I do feel this is just being played now by the HFs!

Ocado, glad someone mentioned that one. I was thinking of throwing some cash at that recently as it's dropped so far. I thought better of it for the reasons you mention Kando. It does intrigue me how much furore the debt is causing here. The actual debt is lower than 2019 levels. It's the interest rates which are the concern. They will fall. Am i right in thinking there is no call on any of the debt until at least next year? i believe most of the refinancing is in place till 2028.

Accountant, yes IME main market stocks almost always recover over time. I avoid AIM stocks like the plague as those ones can wipe you out overnight. Patience is the name of the game usually. I'm sure this will come back. My outlook has always been 5 years on this one so i'm not in a panic at all. I see no real reason to. The SP is being shorted which i've seen so many times on stocks also. The shorts will cover at some point. They are taking a risk too!

JG, yes it does look quite similar to the THG actions. Frustrating but they'll bounce it back up again!

The Cineworld comparator is a boring old chestnut. Cine was doomed long before it went down. Due to C19, no product to offer, no revenue, huge debt. It was dead long before it finally had the last rites!

Goose, i share the frustrations with the current SP performance. I also have bought into this as what i believe is a safe, solid long term hold. Personally i'm looking to buy more on further drops as for me the numbers just say to me this SP is silly low now & i'm prepared to take that risk. No issue with me for people having a rant but really people should look at a posters posting history (or lack of it) Some on here now trying to provoke weaker hands to sell up IMO

People who are down 20-30p from their original buy in price should remember that the vast bulk of holders of this share would have bought somewhere way over £2+. Stop throwing the nappies out of the crib. This is a marketplace!

The way some people talk you'd think this was a company with a desolate oilfield in Tanzania scratching for a few bob to drill for more oil reserves than Chevron rather than a global transport company employing 10s of 000s & bringing in £3bn revenue.

Personally, i think the only real risk here is a potential dilution due to CR if the NA sale doesn't go through. I don't think it's necessary atm but i wouldn't rule it out altogether. In the end a dilution isn't end game anyway. RR had a 10 for 3 dilution during Covid; IAG a 3 for 2 and they're both swimming along nicely now. People need to ignore the noise & relax!

For those who've been here a while.Look at some of the names. Some claiming to have crystallised losses. Do you remember them saying when they bought? No, neither do i! As usual when a SP takes a batter in come the AIM brigade!

Wise advice KG. this is why i haven't commented here for a while. These boards become a bit ridiculous sometimes & i feel it's better to stay away from them when you just get loads of peeps who've never been seen before saying it's going bust etc. I've not sold a bean of mine personally. I'm confident this company will rise up again despite this current turmoil.

Yes MKS, i remember buying those @85p during covid when BOO was 300+. Time is a great leveller but these long established household names always come through in the end!

Yes Genghis, things change. Sometimes for the worse, sometimes for the better but in the end the world keeps turning & the wheels on the buses & coaches will keep turning too. Things are changing politically too. I'm surprised at some comments on here suggesting that a Labour Govt would be terrible. Look at the last 5 years under these current numskulls. Absolute disaster. I think Rachel Reeves is very sharp & Starmer is no business basher. This country needs change & i think it will be good news for companies like MCG!

Istabrraq, Believe me, i share the frustrations. I'm underwater for an eyewatering amount of cash on this one but you really need to take a step back, let the company go about it's day to day business & not over focus on the daily SP. It's drive you to panic sell & that's what the shorters are hoping for here. I've seen it before on many shares! Cast your mind back & ask yourself why you bought these shares at 250? you obviously saw upside from that level. So, now when you can buy the shares for around 20% of that price would you not see the upside? This is the time to buy more not moan about the price. The UK economy is cyclical. History shows us that. We are surely at or near the bottom of a poor economic period & things should only improve. Yes, the new CFO is critical here & i'm interested in what she says in the HY. The main thing is to remain patient. This is a painful one if your outlook is short term but i believe longer term holders will ultimately do very well here. GL

Wealth, yes i agree with most of the points you make but that is why the SP is where it is. At ATLs. My point is that this is a very strong brand & when the macros turn & new management take over these prices should be ancient history. Look at the trajectory of the SP here when Finch was in charge. He was a strong CEO & as such got poached by PSN. Personally i don't believe the financials here are as dire as some comments would lead you to believe. The debt levels have been fairly constant over the years it's only because of reduced earnings due to Covid & management blunders that debt covenants have become an issue. The HY report will be important here. Need to see strong EBIT numbers & hopefully some rate cuts on the macro. Inflation is well on the down so there are some positives. JG re: CFO. Give the girl a chance. It's going to take more than a couple of weeks to get her head round Stamp's screw ups!

Rogue, Like most of us you're down on your investment. I always find it a bit of a paradox that people who bought at much higher prices are reluctant to buy at super low levels. What has changed since your original purchase except obviously the current ticker price? Yes i suppose all the macro turmoil but that will subside in time. The management here has been poor but eventually i do believe that will change as well & we already have a new CFO in situ. I think this company is a great brand which will eventually return to profitability & the SP will react accordingly. I really think some folk are better off not looking at the SP daily. Take a break & let the company go about it's business. Things will improve here!
