Howth - any thoughts on tsb prospects?
Any thoughts on the minus 4 today? Up and down like a yo-yo lately.
Just read in the Irish Times that there is a statue of Queen Victoria's husband in the grounds of Leinster House!??! Surely this is some sort of cod? ...BOI holding well all things considered.
Where do you see this going in the short to medium term?
Lookit this is not the place for these dystopian rants of yours! If you love the Germans so much why don't you go and live in Germany? It's the Germans who started this whole bloody mess in the first place!
Any thoughts on this short position opened by Bridgewater? What is going on with this share.. much positive news over the past six months yet here we are. It remains stubbornly anchored to more or less the same position!
Hello, anyone out there?
I will be out with my pike if they try and pull that stunt with the dividend again. In the name of Tone and Emmet.
Any thoughts on Barclays? Reading in the ft this morning about $1bn US hedge fund bet. Lloyd's etc becoming difficult to ignore. P.S. We deal in metric but we talk in imperial. What size trousers do you wear? It's a pint of stout not 568ml. Such and such is miles away, not km away. The final furlong and so forth.
Some sort of creative tax exemption is needed to protect traditional pubs. Otherwise, in 20 years time there will be hardly any proper pubs left at all. They will have all become Spars or Starbucks. Act now Taoiseach Varadkar. Reduce excise for on-sales..half it for wine consumed with food. Keep franchising out of the pub market and make it more difficult for the likes of Wetherpoons to operate in Ireland. The Irish pub is an institution worth protecting.
Fontenoy, what's got into you?? Mulligan's is a great pub. I appreciate your list but how can you include Davy Byrne's after the renovation job they did on it 20 years ago or so? Hell will freeze over before Mulligan's gets a make over.
I read this article about BOI this morning and have to say I find this kind of practice to be morally abhorrent. I believe that BOI employees responsible should be held accountable... not just senior management. Throughout the bank at all levels of management, just as officers in the German army were held accountable for their actions in WWII. Really shocking stuff... https://www.irishtimes.com/business/personal-finance/couple-discovered-by-accident-they-were-impacted-by-tracker-scandal-1.3323483?mode=amp
Why never? All it takes is a border poll and 51%. Day 1: Topple the Carson statue in Stormont, erect one of Pearse. And one of Connolly as well... With regard to the border stance - the English would do the same. It's called sticking up for yourself! It's absolutely nothing personal and in no way will it diminish our status as allies.
Election news made no impact on SP Today. Not as significant as the media would have you believe. FG well-positioned to make gains. Probably SF too and why not. Bully for them!
Share price will go up once the Brits get their house in order. They won't go on forever like this. A mutually beneficial agreement is surely imminent...one would hope!! Mind you, it'd take off like a rocket if they re-ran that referendum. What was Cameron thinking??
These are the incoherent ramblings of a deluded and deeply troubled individual: "Cyber subterfuge... Germany in utter chaos... We don't owe the EU a penny..." You couldn't make this stuff up!!
Hopefully we will see short positions closing soon. That is the point to come in at. If it goes to 4 or even 5 you'd have to be mad to enter.. ask anyone who's ever been caught up in an increase in capital. Small shareholders are decimated. Banking sector under pressure across Europe. In this sort of semi-crisis environment we need more visibility of management.
What was the division? Just trying to figure out what 6.40 is in old money. thanks
Brexit looking ever less likely if you ask me.
I only wish I'd ignored some of the doomsday merchants on this forum and accumulated yesterday... It's irresponsible to post negative predictions if they are pure speculation. To the twerps who keep doing this, I ask you to please desist!
