the government is selling exploration Licences to companies Like Egdon to Explore for Oil & Gas Then when they actually find it we have this Ludicrous situation where the Local council refuse planning Permission resulting in months of delay & thousands of pounds being spent on planning appeals / public inquiries Its high time the government removed the local councils from the decision making & set up a national planning committee specialising in oil & gas Permits as it has become very apparent that the local councils have no idea what they are dealing with & are relying on every treehugging lunatic they can find to advise them. its ridiculous.

isn't it time the Government sent a representative to oversee these council planning applications for drilling on the grounds of national interests. as this must be the flimsiest grounds for refusal yet.

How is that EDRs fault the council has had weeks to request all the information they wanted So did they ?

I find it Extraordinary that the council are proposing to refuse this application on the grounds they have no confidence in the Environment Agency which is beyond the Applicants control

these so called conservationists don,t seem to be able to see past their nose end for a start most of them are still cooking & heating their homes with gas the very thing they are opposing and as this gas now has to be imported their argument is stupid firstly gas is extracted abroad it then has to be liquefied for shipping that uses an enormous amount of energy to liquefy natural gas then it has to be transported be gas guzzling ships & trucks all producing pollution where if we frack our own gas we eliminate all of the above. yet the green brigade cannot see that.

the Government sold igas the exploration licence for pedl 189 under licence to the government therefore if the government chooses to extend the term of that Licence Then surely it has a right to do so. Since the Brexit vote it has got ridiculous with idiots running to the courts every time the government makes a decision. this will result with the government passing new laws to stop such interference. which would then make it extremely difficult for genuine cases to be heard.

pray someone tell me what the hell they are babbling about now if its a reference to noise as I understand it the site is a former missile site I suppose they were totally silent then.? if not then the site has previous use involving noise, does it not.

the government is selling these exploration licences to these companies then letting the local councils block them its like selling someone a car & saying youre not allowed to drive it Whats the Point I think the planning should be pre approved with the Licence & the onus put on the councils to provide evidence as to why they shouldn,t drill. they would be less keen to spend their own money than someone else's.

What I don,t understand is why are the government selling these licences to these energy company if the LBCs can refuse permission to make use of them. do they get a refund from the government in such cases
