Depends what sort of service you are looking for. I am by nature still stuck in the dark ages and execute via a traditional commodities broker called AMT ( Amalgamated Metals Trading ) using email / telephone but I do have loyalty to them as my ex colleague heads up their trading desk. If I wasn’t so lazy I would probably use Interactive Brokers as they have an excellent execution platform and very low trading costs.
My broker is expensive by comparison and I really should be looking to switch myself to be honest.
I just can’t be arsed with the mountains of compliance one has to complete these days just to open an account.

Welcome Caitlin and if there are any other questions re options etc I would be happy to provide further input. Whilst writing I do wish to compliment Tacet and Geng for their excellent technical analysis, they’ve been more or less spot on over recent months.

Yes, fully agree which makes the opaque nature of the RNS intriguing and the reason why I still hold. Could be completely wrong but I’m hoping for some clarification this week.
I just don’t see the point of selling at this price, the CERP assets alone are worth more than this.

I have not posted much because I don’t see the point in getting involved with these children, in fact I have 11 on filter and all I see is green boxes apart from the sensible people here including yourself, POC, CarsCoffee, Laallee, etc. I also miss Interestking who as a regular poster but I think he became disillusioned with all of the nonsense.
My original shareholding remains intact and i await further clarification of BPC’s Corporate Strategy in detail.

To respond to the earlier question re the options exposure at $22 strike;
I’ve not checked the open interest myself but assuming Ceders is correct then 14k option contracts relates to 1.4m of underlying shares ( one US option contract is equivalent of 100 ADR shares ). So not a huge amount in the big scheme of things but let’s assume this is a long position? Then it would be in the interests of the Market Makers or other side of the trade to see BP at 21.99 or below upon option expiry. This is a very simplistic explanation but satisfactory to answer your question without going into technical details.
For disclosure purposes I am long BP JUN calls options here in the UK so looking for BP to continue its journey upwards.

Sorry, I forgot to add one more point to my discussion re Target Depth...
That is the coming and going of the Helicopter flights..
Now we don’t know who was on board and it could simply have been staff shift rotation but given the tight hole status would it be reasonable to assume that any data would remain aboard the icemax ? and, if so , basis the real time data collected, discussions / decisions required to cease or continue drilling to TD?
Sorry to bang on about this but I feel there is more going on than meets the eye and i do think the timing of the Helicopter flights is relevant.

Putting my issues with certain posters to one side ( btw, nice one Findme ) the main reason I didn’t sell is this question over the target depth and reasoning for not continuing the drill.
- Surely if there was a need to drill further then this would have happened with the Icemax in situ.
So, ( and I think it was the good man POC or CarsCoffee that also alluded to this ) either the reason is technical and if so I guess Coman will explain at some point OR they simply didn’t need to.
- We are not privy to the details until disclosed and we have no idea of any discussions in the background involving the BG, BPC, and potentially a JV / Farm in partner but it seems to me, and I could be completely wrong, that there may well be a set of criteria established before the drill to satisfy certain interested parties to engage in future commercial discussions. Maybe that criteria was met and therefore no requirement to continue the drill?
- My only issue with this was the behaviour of LO? Were they party to full disclosure of data or because of the tight hole conditions maybe certain info was not disclosed even to them?
- The other question mark was the timing of LK departure which seems strange... especially with the transfer of his share ownership to his wife and his involvement with the ‘ Energy Fund ‘. There could well be something going on with these people which could potentially have left LK in a position of conflicted interest?
Who knows but I guess we will find out in due course and it’s because of the opaque nature of the RNS that I decided not to sell. My fingers remain crossed as I am nursing a huge monetary loss albeit on paper until I hit the sell button, but I really see no reason why this share cannot recover to previous levels pre spud to at least some extent.
-Incidentally I wonder what happened to Interestking, he was posting daily and then suddenly disappeared..

Laallee, of course you are correct, but sometimes you have to make a stand. I find his postings absolute drivel and his writing pose annoying at best..
Anyway, i am sorry you felt necessary to sell your long standing holding but I do understand, the mental capital takes its toll and we all have our tipping points.
I was also tempted to sell but will wait for more clarification of the data gathered, what’s another .50p when I’m already down so much.

Same, will continue to hold subject to clarification of a coherent corporate strategy. RNS detailing a JV / Royalty deal with a Major would seem the best we could hope for to at least receive a future income stream from the Bahamas investment to date, allowing resources to concentrate on monetisation of the CERP assets.

Nothing wrong with Laallee, I’ve read his posts for years and he’s a straight shooter.
Jmann also used to post himself back in the day, must be at least 7 years since he last posted. He also came across a genuine guy and a local Bahamian with ears to the ground and wicked sense of humour. ( which you need to be a BPC shareholder... )
