I was hoping for some extra cash to give piece of mind re the legal issue. While it doesn't worry initially, it does if they can produce enough cash to cover. The company has done well under the conditions as it always does. Trump, while he may end the war he may not do so on favourable terms for Ukraine. He's too unpredictable. Stuck here so fingers crossed.

In today's RNS they've stated they were only able to maintain cash, rather than build position. I don't trust the Algos here either lol

The problem is while production is up they haven't increased cash position due to increased costs and lower iron ore prices. That is the caveat at the moment. Trump cutting off funding could also translate into more aggression from Russia. It's a tough one. Would of been nice to have added in the 40's for a trade.

As expected. It's the fact the Zekensky is still unwilling to give up land that concerns me, more so that the legal dispute and what Ukraine intends to do with the 49.5% share holder (which is peanuts to the guy he's worth billions). I could see his pint in the early days but I think he needs to compromise a bit now.

Hopefully they'll cotton on that 78% of fook all is fook all, if they don't support the industry they wont be making any money. Either way it'll take a while. This still looks very cheap from where I'm sitting.

Labours plans won't really change much for a while save the 3% which I guess is equivalent to less than $2 a barrell if you look at it that way.

Also, just to point out, ENQ are currently paying 35% tax which may move to 38% under Labour. I only mention that because I think a lot think they are at 75% with the bigger players. There is room for Labour to play on words and not consider ENQ, SQZ etc to be 'giant', and so leave them alone. All depends how much of a scape goat they need.

Baron just declared his position closed on Twitter. Saw some £100k+ trades going through yesterday. He was a big holder and sold these at a loss so that would have accounted for a part of the drop. SP dipped after his announcement, A LOT of traders follow him so prob followed him out. With that done and everyone else likely also underwater coupled with the initial panic selling over hopefully we'll see some recovery tomorrow. Happy evening all, keep the chins up.

Honestly wouldn't surprise me if Enquest fell into the takeover war spreading across the UK and that's part of the reason I hold. You can't ignore the 2bn tax loss advantage against a sub 300m market cap.

Since 2017 yes. The windfall tax (profit reduction )reset expectations tho didn't it? And isn't debt reduction now more rapid than when that debt started being chipped away at 7/8 years ago? I've only been here since last year so you may have a better overall picture of the historic's. My views are forward-looking based on whats happening now but I do get the frustration. Been locked in shares for years as well.

Historically I'd agree Enquest looks like hard work, but a lot of hurdles and milestones have been reached over the last 12 months or so and a lot is moving in the right direction. Charging a windfall tax when there is no longer a windfall isnt fair to anyone and will do long-term damage to the industry. That said Enquest is nimble enough and now delivering well. In normal conditions we'd be way past your 37p by now. SP will grow as debt is arrested, it always does.

Property is generally a win and a lot less stressful once it's set up :)
