So he now gets £400 a month he doesn't need and there are obviously health "support" workers with too much time on their hands.

For me it has been my best ever investment and I have made overall on my investments 20% per year, RR is my current big winner

I normally hold on to a share for 12 months, I have found that this time period is optimal.

Correct. Both very sad in their only little way. They probably deserve our pity.

I've learnt from experience that it is impossible to guess the bottom with this share but joining the ride when it has 2 months momentum behind it can be very profitable

Agreed, OCDO has been my best ever investment but I haven't been invested since it was in the 20s. I will not be buying again unless / until it shows strong positive momentum

On average the share price has gained 10% in the summer months and break-even in the winter months.

Biggest gain was summer 20 (63%), biggest loss was winter 12/13 (40%).

No baked beans in store at 50p, had to buy organic at a £1, not all bad news

I'm very happy having bought at 89p.

I have now recovered all my previous losses on HOC !

It has been my best ever investment in the past but currently on the sidelines. I would like to see strong momentum over a 1,2 and 3 month period before I invested.

Good luck BOYOBACH, I have attempted trading over shorter periods but any profit has been wiped out by trading costs, mostly stamp duty.

I tend to buy and hold for a year, I stick to these rules and it takes the stress out of daily movements. Even the massive losses I've made over the last few days don't phase me, I've been around long enough to know that the market tends to recover.

I do watch price movements but tend to look at month, 3 months, 6 months and 12 months momentum. Also I look at relative movement.

I agree OCOD has been pretty awful recently but I do hold a certain fondness for it as it has been my highest winner in the past.

I must admit I never understand comments about price ranges, surely the overall market moves have a bigger impact

Share price down due to margin falling from 25% to 23%. Sales up but as the saying goes sales is vanity profit is sanity

Grim, you do realise that OCDO had a PO price of £1.55 and fell to 52p before rising to £29.11., potentially a rise of over 5,000%.

Anybody who bought and sold randomly would have made a hefty profit.

Personally I have been in and out 5 times since 2003, making profits of 193%, 61%, 38% and 18% with 2 losses of 29% and 42%.

My biggest investmet was in Dec 17 when I bought at £3.55 and sold 2 years later at £12.36.

Get the timing right and fortunes can be made.
