A very rare post from me. I only see this mornings announcement as a good thing for the share price.
On the one hand after years and years of constant disappointment with performance and delays, Angus are finally only weeks away from starting to earn very real gas revenue. Finally! A revenue generating company! By complete luck rather than judgement, this coincides with rocketing gas prices (who saw that coming?) which are likely / hopefully going to last for some time. That's what most "experts" are predicting anyway.
On the other hand, there is obviously a lot going on behind the scenes regarding other interested parties in the Saltfleetby asset. If you trust the board to do what is in the best interest of shareholders, then as others have already said on this thread, the board will not allow any sale on the cheap. And given their previous valuations of Saltfleetby (£30 million+) - remember this is before gas prices started to rocket - then it is quite possible we could wake up one morning to an RNS stating they have received offers in line with their own valuations.
You would hope that over the coming days / weeks as excitement builds to first gas, the share price should benefit. At the moment it only sits at circa £10m. Even the slightest rumour would also add fuel to the fire.
Even with a good sail wind, I unfortunately don't see the share price reaching previous historic highs - so in my opinion long suffering long term holders in at 5p+ are unlikely to get all their capital back - but surely the sp has a very real chance of doubling or trebling on hype and anticipation alone.
Just my opinion.
Rastuss - I've glanced at your posting history trying to figure out that very question but it leaves me with no clues. If I read through the 177 posts you have made on Angus in the last 30 days will it explain why you are so obsessed about the company?
I'm not asking you to justify your opinions - each to their own - I'm just trying to work out why the obsession about a company you are not invested in?
Rastuss - I think everyone on this board - for or against the company - are completely bewildered as to why, as a non investor, you dedicate so much of your life to this chat board? You are on this board all day during the working week and pretty much all weekend too. I for one don't get it. Why are you so obsessed about the fortunes of Angus?
Genuine question, nothing personal, I just don't understand the mindset of someone to behave this way?
I'm with JD-Nau. SF is the main play now. George has stated that on several occasions in recent interviews. I don't think shareholders really have high expectations for Balcombe.
SF on the other hand has the potential to be a game changer.
I would rather they focus firmly on SF and if successful look for a similar gas project.
Hi Guys, Good news that Theddlethorpe Parish Council have dropped their objections (see Associated Documents 23/07/20) and are now supporting the Saltfleetby application (see Saltfleetby Planning Application on Lincolnshire County Council website).
Progress!
Part 2
I really like the potential of Saltfleetby. Yes there will be bumps in the road but if we can get to early next year (I am assuming that timelines will slip a bit) and start producing gas at the sort of numbers stated in the CPR then that is some result. I did have some concerns about the natural gas price moving forward and how it will effect the project economics but I have taken the view that gas prices will increase over time post-Covid (as they have done very recently). Most industry “experts” seem to take this view.
The most important thing about Saltfleetby is that it will start bringing in revenue for the first time. In my view people shouldn’t underestimate this and I am hoping the market will react accordingly. Most AIM companies only dream of meaningful revenue (as Angus has so far!)
Finally, I read this message board off and on. As a shareholder, it can really frustrate. So much negativity by the same few posters. And then it suddenly hit me.
As an investor, there is almost nothing worse than investing in a company, only to see the share price dive and you end up selling your shares at a huge loss.
I said “almost” nothing worse. There is however one thing worse.
That is, investing in a share, only to see the share price dive and you end up selling your shares at a huge loss, only then to find over time that the share price rises again.
An investors worst nightmare. Put simply, there are 4 or 5 posters on here who spread negativity on an almost hourly basis because a rise in the share price would be their worst nightmare come true.
Part 1/2
Hi Guys, this is my first post on here. I know you are all immediately sceptical! I am not planning to post on here much as it’s not really my thing but I thought I’d put in my two pennies worth….
My backstory – I invested in Angus a few years ago and it has cost me thousands. A real car crash. I fell for the hype hook, line and sinker. I think I first invested just under 20p, saw the share price rise to 37p, fall back again to 28p, I then invested a lot more (what was I thinking?), saw the price rise again to low 30’s, before falling and falling and falling and falling to where we find ourselves today.
Brockham was a complete disaster. I was absolutely disgusted – at PV, at JTP, at the company and at myself. I felt so stupid and had sleepless nights. I am so glad PV has long gone (“all we have to do is turn on the taps”) – despite his ridiculous huge payoff - and I wish JT-P would go too. The market does not like him and shareholders certainly do not like him. If there was an RNS tomorrow stating he had left the company and sold his shares, the share price would probably jump by 50% on sentiment alone! If he is that good at spotting new opportunities and securing new projects then they should pay him on an adhoc consultancy basis. That’s it.
I was so close to selling my shares after the Brockham disaster, I just thought what’s the point at the current price? I immediately wrote my entire investment off in my head and have watched from a distance ever since with zero expectations. I have to say though, my level of confidence is slowly but surely increasing over time. Is there any chance the share price will increase to previous levels? Almost certainly not. I do however have at least some hope now of a partial recovery.
I have to say I like George and think he has done a good job since taking over. I know the share price says differently, but share prices often don’t act as you want them to. I have watched most of his interviews, including the one today, and he comes across as level headed and honest. I think he understands the pain of past shareholders and wants to put that right. Most importantly, he has a plan, and, as he says, he understands it’s all about delivery now. No one wants a people pleaser any more. Been there, done that. I know he lacks O&G experience but that’s not everything. Steve Sanderson has vast experience and look at the UKOG share price. I am glad George is at the helm and I want him to stay at the helm.
