Hot swings and roundabouts on gold up and down ............ down and up GS with the amount of trading you do you should consider a margin account like me and Hot You can keep your normal Isa/ nominee /sipp accounts as i do for your long term solid dividend paying shares and funds. Also put some separate money in a margin account to trade frequently with. Its much cheaper than trading through a normal account. you could limit your self to say £1k . you can get hell of a lot of shares for that amount on margin In answer to your question to Hot re Apple, yes of course you can go long on Apple. I have traded Apple but its an expensive share and you need some deep pockets if you intend to ride it long term as it can move at a rapid rate. On the IG platform it trades on an all season basis ( which means its trading all the time 24hrs ) Looking at my chart last time i traded it i drew a line across it and it looks like it might be coming up to a resistance point. Its definitely over bought so be careful if you buy in. Re ITV i wouldn't hold your breath its running out of steam again but with luck it might get to 223 . Gl all

Hi Hot HICL is an in investment trust but comes under collective umbrella of funds It's in IC top 100 funds. Yes actully Mckays isn't a fund or a trust it's a securities. Rolling contracts are when you buy any security on IG say on a December 16 contract. Then if you contact IG and ask them to continue it and roll it over for another period. They then look at your account and say yes or no. You only need to do it once then it's set up indefinitely and on everything! To be honest although I've got the facility I've never used it as I very rarely hold on to anything. I guess it's a way of having a conventional share account for longterm holding but on margin.

Hi guys bought a couple of funds today on long-term rolling contracts HICL and MCKS. Both already in profit but HICL goes ex tomorrow with a nice upward trend and regular divis. Mcks going ex soon looks like it might be breaking out but both at a discount to Nav so when Nav gets adjusted both should pop up. Not really exciting but keepers for a while i think I picked up a few points shorting EZJ around dinner time as well . Nice work you two on your trades!!

Thanks Hot for your encouragement and thoughts and advice. As a rule I don’t enter trade of the week until I see which way it’s going as it can be wrong. I only took it up yesterday as Josh reiterated it again yesterday and believed it would definitely come down. I followed his advice to the letter. I opened at bang his suggested price. I added another 20 points to the stop price to be on the safe side. I very much reduced the limit profit taking price as well. I also looked at Nicole Elliot’s trader view she was also for shorting with a maximum stop at 1255 . I think the irritating thing is my signal/ charting etc didn’t show it as a shorting opportunity at all and I wished I had listened to my gut feeling but when at least two experts are saying the same thing and we are just amateurs there tends to be a bias to take their advice.. Like you I read FX empires views and IG views and IC Nicole Elliot views. If two or three of them disagree I stay away. If they are all in agreement I take it as a positive opportunity. I think that is why I am so annoyed as I do all the research I can etc. It’s not the first time it’s happened either. You see I wasn’t chasing the market I was taking advice! And at £5 a point you can work it out it’s a big loss. Ill get over it i generally do!! plus my real P/F is performing well enough Again thanks for your encouragement and empathy it’s nice that you guys are supportive and we all support each other. . gl on your gold foray. Hot so much for Josh Mahony trade of the week "short the ftse" got that well wrong didn't he, I got stopped out at 1260 ouch... much to my cost!!! Chris B no better for your gold positions . All the signals were actually against both of our trades. FTSE wasnt overbought and gold was looking very bearish. But i blindly followed Josh recommendation I don't know Hot? I am just going to follow my own system from now on. It seems to work better on average. Gl all

Hi guys a wierd comparing thus morning to this afternoon. Compleatly opposite. Could have been confirmed another country..... stock market for you!! GS sold TCG today at a few pence loss. If it wasn't going to go up today it never will. Like yourself I am very happy with my real shares in lloyds!! Hot.... Gold good luck.. I think it's the potential US rate hike that's holding it back. I just popped out for an hour at 12.30 . Ftse was fairly range bound, then typical as soon as i turn my back, up it went and i am not really sure why???.......... Will hang on for now but at £5 a point its looking a bit scary. i had closed my long on NG a few points banked and had banked two earlier shorts on the ftse also banked a few points on long on US crude but presently still not too happy. Your gold buy in price looks good! good luck with that. Ditto I am happy to see AV going up

I had a short trigger on persimmon at 2102 its a bit premature and its in an uptrend but with luck i might get a few points out of it next week. Dont worry about RTN you have had a good week and so have I.

Hi Gs I only day trade EZJ sold out yesterday. Holidays..... every airport I go to is absolutely rammed with customers. Marjoca the other week was really busy with holiday makers. I can't believe you are still looking at scalp . I thought they had gone away. .
