The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
Yes . Very sorry Mucker and Piltik. There is such a flurry of posts at the moment i found it difficult to scroll right back to find out who had started this and I only saw kevos link to the podcast
What a fantasic link Diviup. What a pity I can't see it has been picked up here. Maybe on ITM!
This is the most powerful advocacy of GREEN hydrogen I have yet heard. The problem ,as I have already said, for PHE and other gasifying companies is to try and distance themselves in the politicians minds (to start with at COP26) from the truly blue hydrogen reforming methane from fossil fuels and press the argument for getting rid of non recyclable plastic. I hope this will happen As to how expensive it will be to transport the hydrogen/ammonia from Oz . One , it is going to happen anyway what ever the politicians decide and two ,I cannot believe that Mr Bamford has not done his sums. It would certainly be good if we knew the cost. I was interested to hear that Andrew Forrest made a distinction between "slow" moving transport like (his) ships using liquid ammonia as fuel (and internally converting to hydrogen??) and "fast" vehicles like cars and buses (and trains ?) using compressed hydrogen gas. Why is that? I am guessing it is due to the time lag to convert the ammonia to hydrogen sufficiently fast.
Well , nice to get a reply, paistake and I will try to take more pains too. I should have said MAY BE squeezed out and I mean, in the medium to long term, i.e 20-30 years. As I tried to explain, because other tech , mainly electrolysis (which WILL come down in price) will overtake it to produce hydrogen. And No I an not joking
I suppose SOME update is better than nothing but like others I can't see it as a real positive. The delay in the termination and exclusivity rights MAY reflect confidence but can also be seen as a further delay to FINACIAL CLOSE. This has not been mentioned since Tim Yeo mentioned it in a pod cast confidently for 31st October but not confirmed as far as I know in print. Of course we all know how much faith we had in that pronouncement anyway!
Thanks for your updates from Peel , Majenen. They do go to indicate again WHY Peel may be delaying on PHE in order to "line up all the ducks" on their other technologies thereby spreading their own risk.
The thing that really worries me however is what the future is for gasification generally and PHE in particular. It is not favored at all by environmentalists who say ALL plastic should be recycled (even though not practical at the moment) They are the ones who seem to be winning the argument at the moment with the politicians ahead of COP26 . Hydrogen is now firmly on the agenda in the mainstream media ( on the North West TV news and on Radio 5 live I have seen) but from GREEN electrolised source. It seems this is the only acceptable way at any cost and would explain why Joe Bamford is prepared to transport it in bulk (by boat in liquid ammonia?) from Australia where he says it is "cheap" rather than get it (in bulk)from homegrown sources via steam reforming methane in our own chemical industry. Until all the proposed plastic parks are up and running, gasification can't compete for bulk supply. In the mean time ,electrolisers and hydrogen dispensers can be installed more easily to satisfy the lower demand for light vehicles and cars as that develops. Unless the "two birds with one stone" argument( removing NON recycled plastic as well as the supply of hydrogen) is pressed much stronger, I fear even PHE's gasification tech may by squeezed out.
Yes mucker. More excellent news for my area of Cheshire as well as the Hynet project (based ,it appears on Protos) . I still hope that Peel will get their finger out and give us some REAL news of progress on the DMG FOAK. Tomorrow is October 31st. Will this be another milestone passed with no action???
That was the game plan before Peel became involved. peel changed that and wanted the upgrade to 35 tonne/ 1-2 tonne hydrogen. I was initially glad about that and assumed Peel had big plans for hydrogen sales. They seem to be more of a hinderance than help to the FOAK roll out at the moment.
Hi Led Zep. Thanks for your up dates on Protos progress. How do you get to see all this? I tried to get to see the PHE site 10b but was halted at a barrier with dire warnings of instant eviction if I carried on (only PPE clad hairy men allowed) . I am not sure where I was as I was not following a sat nav. Not sure I was on the marsh lane. I could see lots of activity and diggers going but difficult to see where.
Woops. Forgot the link.
