Sorry for not realizing it was a quote Blue. But in any case ,it was really another opportunity for me to have another rant about the pathetic state this country that allows good potentially world beating tech (like the DMG) to be bought on the cheap by other countries to develop and sold back to us at vastly increased cost . Another example ,the F35 jets bought at 100 mil each for our wonderful new aircraft carrier from the design of the Harrier jump jet from Hawker Sidley back in the 1970's. I hope I am wrong and the FOAK IS built at Protos plastic park near my old home town. It appears Protos are saying it will be running in 2023 so I would recon financial close (predicted in Q3 of this year ) must happen in January or February next year for it to be built and commissioned by early 2023. Time is of the essence as there ARE other contenders who will be fighting for their share of "non recyclable" plastic and as other technology recycles more of it and reduces the supply. The much vaunted gate fees may cease to exist.
Well I for one DO care about Peel. Blue Toff. I will say again , I could not care less about HUI/ Linde taking our British tech and probably getting it to commercialization to sell it back to us instead of US selling it to them. I wanted to see this tech making infrastructure and jobs here ,not having to buy back in like we have had to do with wind generators from Denmark and Germany. The trouble is this country is run by lawyers and bean counters, not engineers like Germany. That is why I am out of here like others until (and IF) Peel stirs it's stumps. This MAY happen IF and when they get planning permission for the plastic park.
Likewise Goldbar. I am just sick that it does not seem to be happening with Peel NRE on my home turf. It looks like the Germans under HUI/Linde will win the race and take over this British company. I am an old fashioned patriot and not xenophobic. I am very pro Europe but want to see my own country benefiting from it's own tech. first. Germany 1 Britain 0 so far!
Hi Mjallen.
I am afraid you will get me on my rant about the lack of vision in this country to support British small tech companies to grow into PRODUCION companies. Vision to see the opportunities and nerve to back them financially by (succesive) governments and investment companies. This is the reason companies like PHE and CPX have opted for the "technology sale" business model. This seems like a sound financial "safety first" option ,but in my view inhibits growth into a production company where the real value is. Relying on the sale of the tech leaves them vulnerable to theft and infringement of patents. The only sure way is to produce your own tech. This is what has happened to CPX in their battle with Maxwell and they have belatedly realised they need to make their own devices to sell. ITM are also now a major manufacturing company with their first "giga factory" and now a possible second one all adding jobs to our economy.
All very pertinent questions Metatron and ones no one seems willing to speculate about but must be worrying about if they have significant money here. I have to say I am now out for the moment until I see the whites (or should that be Whites) of Peels eyes with the MONEY .i.e FINACIAL CLOSE never mind all the potential and HUI and Linde. I came in here to support a BRITISH company that would solve OUR plastic problem , not sell this priceless tech to a foreign company could buy it up cheap.
I was thinking more about the environment than swimming in it but I take your point . Nether will be good if it spills but there is no other way of bulk carrying which industry needs unfortunately.
It Still does not make much sense to transport it right round the world except that it must be cheap
