The new boss has been in work a week. What has he done to galvanize this company? Yes . NOTHiING will happen until the FOAK DMG starts being built and that means Financial close. When, oh when will that happen? Mr Kitcher ,burn the phone line to Peel central!

NutHazard re 13:14 post .I do sincerely hope that will be the end of the turn around in staff and board members for the next few crucial years. I also hope the new CEO will get a boot behind Mr Kitcher who's job it should be to put pressure on Peel to get on with construction (assuming they have done something toward financial close) never mind getting all their other projects going. He has an impressive double barreled name. I hope he starts firing on both of them! He has a tough first year ahead. I wish him the very best.

I would love to know that myself mjallen. I posed that to Dr A . For me it means "The full cost of construction is in the bank ,so construction can go ahead". I think Dr A agreed with that. In order for that to be true I guess the SPV in the guise of Peel NRE (Hydrogen 1?) must have investment cash and some of their own pledged to the project.

OK Led Zep . That does make sense although I had not even considered that work starting in the rest of the park would hold up work starting on the DMG. certainly work should start once the permissions are given but could be delayed until Autumn..

Are Yes! Having re read it could be " Start to turn unrecycled plastic waste in the region into a clean fuel for buses HGVs and cars , on site at the plastic-to-hydrogen facility" by re arranging the sentence that would mean the the DMG could be running by Autumn !
That does seem very optimistic however. I think it must mean that CONSTRUCTION should start then.

I would be glad to think you are right, but I could not see your optimism. The news letter, by putting the " waste to hydrogen" project as they call it ,firmly after the permission for the full plastic park in their time line, surely indicates their priorities. How does your reading interpret it differently?

So , just to be clear Dr. A. Didn't Peel set up the SPV ,so are they footing the whole bill? I was told by David Ryan that they would only contribute a small fraction like 4m, as well as the infra structure which I suppose will include the afore mentioned Electricity import/export services.

If you don't know what is going on with "Financial close" then I guess no one outside Peel or PHE does! I have said before that I will not be happy with this investment until I see this. What is your feeling about when (or IF)it will be announced officially by RNS or via Peel news? Will this happen before Construction starts?

However. In all the posts I have seen, no one seems to be concerned about "Financial Close"
I put that in quotes because I am still not sure what the term means. The only mention I have seen is that the appointment of the EPCM company is part of this process.
To me Financial Close means that Peel NRE (and it's SPV?) has obtained all the finance ether as cash or a loan in order to complete construction.. Is that too simplistic? Has that already happened? What has happened to the £15 M from the two fund raises by PHE last year? Only 3.8 M has been allocated for "long lead item "purchases, and only as a loan from PHE. What are these items apart from the "special steel" mentioned? This is all very confusing to me.

From the Peel L&P newsletter for January2022 , they state the important milestones as:
Feb/March - complete Protos grid substations, so electricity can be imported AND exported.
Spring -Planning decision EXPECTED for First plastic Park
Summer /Autumn. Start construction of DMG
In parallel with that time line is the construction by Element 2 of the hydrogen refueling station(s) needed to export the hydrogen.
I do not see any information to say where these will be but I assume the one for the DMG will be quite close to the plastic park and maybe even on one of the remaining plots. The Hynet map seems to indicate one very nearby.
However , in the initial stage of development ,the DMG could be configured to send all the syngas to produce electricity ( as originally envisaged), so the construction schedule of Element 2 should not be a problem.
So the major problem in keeping to schedule for the DMG could be the Spring planning decision for the plastic park. Others have speculated that this is already holding back the start of DMG construction and this news letter seems to confirm that.

I cannot find any mention of construction of the FOAK DMG "This Summer/Autumn"
Peel NRE news letter I can see called "A year in review 2021" just says
"As June drew to a close, Peel NRE signed a letter of intent to supply hydrogen from plastic to hydrogen facilities to refueling stations planned by Element 2. Our consented plastic to hydrogen facility at Protos will be able to supply up to two tonnes of hydrogen per day – that’s sufficient to fuel approximately 80 HGVs, 1000 buses or 5,000 cars per day.  "
No mention of construction starting.

Interesting side issue re. a way to popularise Hydrogen as vehicle fuel. I wonder how important the NOx issue would be. Toyota need to be VERY careful in their emissions info if they do go down this route.
