Sounds like they are pretty unique top end of accuracy in the Clinical trials market, with 10 of top 20 pharmaceuticals as clients. 60/40 split ints/Pis shareholders . ‘Hindsight is a beautiful thing.’ Obviously they could have done a placing at time of acquisition but actually on reflection I think the loan note was the better option to dilutions probably works out cheaper if everything goes to plan ( ha ha) . Market over reaction? That’s up to them now to prove it.

it seems every company reporting today, good , bad or indifferent has taken a hefty knock. all seems a bit suspicious to me. ****ney rebel ( a pi commentator was at a loss to explain the drop today in this stock, although he did mention a big holder selling out. they can’t all be selling out and for what purpose? there was clearly an institutional attack on dark earlier this year, and there is no disputing that. if this is more wide spread it is going to seriously damage markets. the reactions to results particularly, all seem to me to be disproportionately negative at the moment. could be sentiment of it could be orchastrated

Oo ouch, thats about 0.8 percent of the company less than 10 percent of profits to drive the company even further into the big league. Hope AZN are paying attention. Thevbuy price will keep moving up

I was wondering that myself. Interesting to release loan note and interim on the same day. Clearly the market was not expecting this. Don’t know if it’s the results or the loan note which had the biggest effect but that’s a fair percentage right there. May be they approached their broker asked the fund managers and they all said loan note. small placing would have had about the same effect on share price but would be 4 million richer less expenses which are always ridiculous. Let’s hope the contracts roll in, obviously there has been a delay so if they are as good as their word ‘should see an upturn in revenue and profitability by year end.’

The extraordinary thing is they are in a far better place than when the share price was over £1.20 last year!

Word for word the update in July! Cash flow 5 times what it was this time last year and scaling up for new markets.

Nice bit share price manipulation here and finally the sp goes up after the last close before results. I did manage to prize 3 top ups last week, but it was hard work. Couldnt get a price for ages and finally got in three trades at 92.88. Hope it works out with some stunning results tomorrow. Cant see any other reason for this cloak and dagger market maker.

Good spot WJ. Might also explain the slow progress of negotiation. A conclusion must be imminent as diligence was completing last week. Interest rates stable, fixed rates coming down and signs of activity in the housing market. I’m quite willing to hold if the deal is not forthcoming. No doubt would take a hit on the share price, but they have potentially a very valuable business hence the quality and quantity of funds . I cant see them parting for this for less than £1 +. If not the business is not worth buying imo

Ah I see the repurchase shares are for cancellation or remuneration. What a bunch of donkeys 3 percent repurchase is not going to help the share price at all. Really disappointing. Looks more like feathering someone’s nest and we all know who that is.

Gondan I hater in many cases buybacks are not always a winner. However this is slightly different to my way of thinking. A company that buys its own shares back is simply buying itself. A fund like anic is in effect buying its holdings at a discounted value to the market price of the individual holdings. At some stage some of their holdings may get a listing of their own when floated. I don’t think they should over diversify either. They currently hold about 20 companies in quite varied market sectors. I currently hold only 12 companies in my portfolio . Admittedly I don’t have either team or the expertise, but I find I am performing much better than when I held 30 stock or more. Needless to say Anic is my worst performer down about 40 percent which coincidentally the same as their nav discount or there abouts. I was close to topping up but decided it is better general to average up as has proved the case with Eqls, Niox and Atm. I may however succumb should we see sub 10p again which is possible if not likely.

Thanks for posting the presentation. Reminds me why I got out. Anyone who starts a presentation with a load of excuses for a poor performance doesnt fill me with confidence to want to re-engage even at this price. Consolidation is probably the best and only hope. On top of that they cant stop rewarding themselves for this poor performance. Will have another peak after the AGM where the sp will no doubt go down further.

Can we take it that the results will be even more impressive next week. Hope we will have some news on the home testing kit. So much for Cris Mills thinking this couldnt make it to 60p under its own steam. Other than having to payout the boss man now we are in the 70ps, good chance we will make it to the pound barrier under own steam. Be interesting to see how much the cash balance has been restored after special div payout. Should here news of dividend as a permanent fixture I would hope. Icing on the cake being we have £600 million of tax credit to get through over the next few years, which apparently is transferrable should they get taken over.

With a near 40% discount to the shares they own in the fund it makes a lot of sense to buy the shares they are already invested in even cheaper.

Been watching Manolete closely too. More weighted on the legal side maybe. Lord Lee has them in his portfolio. The there was a big law/solvency firm that crashed on profit warning recently. Everyone thoght this would be the hot sector in these troubled times. I feel Beg are the best of the bunch. Better balance sheet and dividend. Will find out soon enough if the strategy is working

Real struggle to get any shares today. Had to put in an order and managed to get a couple of small trades online. Why is it they hold the price back. If they stuck to a more realistic price they might get some sellers. Hardly rocket science. They were quite prepared to buy all my shares at 91p though ha bloody ha
