TUI seems to be faring better than its peers today and why shouldn't it be as it is just under 200p off where it should have been post the Rights Issue several months back (TERP of circa 808p), and with all the continued good travel sector updates lately on profit, load factors etc etc.

Hopefully they set the record straight on the 9th and back up there they go.

Can't see why they shouldn't be faring as well as others and importantly they will also have paid off a large chunk of debt.

Both FTS100 and 250 down as I speak but TUI up. Good good.

You know what I find remarkable is the fact that you have a talk in the City being of CityAM being bagged by us for less than £1M. That same City must also have had a reasonable inkling of how much the Apollo Bid was for, that's at the time or afterwards. To be valuing THG Ingenuity at "significantly higher" than the 65p to 68p range prior then they must have been well over £2.00, and that still leaves scope for significant profit for themselves

So with a 170p lowest and only publicised bid from the several suitors in the King Street / Belerion Bid and the Ingenuity constituent of the Apollo's bid why are we still trundling along at only 105p.

Two sets of independent eyes say its clearly worth a lot more.

I thought most on here had a preference for an association with JDSports, what with its Middle eastern expansion, although if Mike Ashley and Frasers Group wished to take a stake or form an alliance then so be it. Frasers it has to be said could provided upmarket bricks and mortar for THG Beauty brands and the likes of MyProtein gymnwear. It'd be nice to do a Gymshark on this.

Another weekend without the previous negative narrative of old. Times they are a changing and hopefully an environment now prevailing where we can make our own positive news.

We may have got CityAM for less than £1Million.

Yes it's the 9th August for our turn to update the markets. It's in the Financial Diary tab above.

Given how everyone else has been updating and with us having paid down a very large chunk of debt I'm rather looking forward to our update. Thereafter hopefully somebody realises how cheap TUI still is compared to an 808p TERP.

I think the question all would like answered sbb is where was that photo taken of him on the CityAM Linkedin post.

It definitely wasn't in the Uk for it's been pee' ing it down on and off with rain all weekend and earlier this week, especially up North, and by the looks of the lines on his forehead he's either just finished a morning exercise session or he's been burning the midnight oil on something bigger...

Well if the volume remains low and slow today, and that's despite a dip to just over 100p to imo try and stimulate volume, then today should finish near an all time low and just highlights fewer weak holders and people not even tempted. Am I the only one thinking it's leading to an interesting scenario should real decent THG news arrive? For instance the Icon HQ sale.

The news coverage on the fires in Rhodes and elsewhere seems to be diminishing and should do further when flights resume over the weekend.

What I find really intriguing in all the coverage is that this gets directly linked to global warming and climate change agenda.

Yes it creates the arid conditions but lets make no mistake about it, you need a spark to start a fire and although some of these may be accidental ignitions (cigarette bust not properly extinguished, barbecues, make no mistake about it that some of these are being started by arsonists and firestarters. Sick people.

I've just caught a newscast on ITV of drone footage having caught one starting a fire the other day in Italy and when they saw the drone they started hurling rocks at it. If it is deliberate ignition then its as criminal as it gets and if there is damage, severe damage or injury or loss of life as a result then the book should be thrown at them. In some countries where tourism is also a major economic contributor to the country then surely it should be classed as economic terrorism.

Thankfully we are getting back to normal and hopefully any culprits get a knock at the door.

The biggest mistake that some make when they are down is that they solely become focused on getting their money back or out an acceptable loss, when if you actually step back and outside the situation you are in then you get the clearer picture.

Then as you point out Jjones there are the 3 different Directors buying and William Currie Investment have scooped up 3.14% and thinking the same. They'll know more than you or I.

There will be many roads travelled between now and any FCA final report which even with full cooperation and the short cut of the McFarlane and the FRA's report, they are so understaffed it must be about a year down the line.

Easy to say it now but why didn't you sell at 35p or 36p, or put a trailing stop loss on your holding with say a 32p cut off.

You made the right choice for you if it makes you sleep easier and hopefully you can recover your losses elsewhere, but markets and AIM in particular just have that invariable knack of taking shares off some on the cheap and passing them on a short time later to someone else for considerably more. Hopefully you become stronger and more decisive for your experience.

Another good day indeed HH and back onto the front foot in the last few days and that CityAM deal is a little cracker. Peanuts spent buying it out of pre-pack, kudos for saving 40 jobs and a hand in glove fit for THG Beauty, THG Nutrition and THG Ingenuity all to use as a cheap advertising medium for both themselves and (clients for a fee) Gateway to London and the Home Counties. Workaround "dark side" journalism also. I absolutely love it.

The gain today is just the way I like it what with it staying off the highest percentage gainers boards and deterring the day traders. (Unfortunately we still have a few but their postings now are transparent) Steady gains make the gains feel more real, particularly when noone is really selling anything and it builds strength into the share price.

Another decent day tomorrow and we are back to where we were last Friday before some entity manipulated and put an unwarranted crash on the share price. Its not been a good last few days for them seeing all their imo ill gotten gains virtually wiped out. That must be another entity staring at a couple of million loss, possibly more.

Slow and steady wins the race.

Backed of course by more and more good news and communications.

No guarantees with BOO but its such a big holding / strategic investment that is being overlooked here and given the GM antics, it's clear they want it.

Bob's still got a month and 4 days to deliver on some of the loose ends before he departs and still has his own personally invested cash in here as well as some of his options which you would think he would still like to see a healthy return on

It wasn't meant to offend just saying you always get some on bulletin boards that get too emotionally tied to shares and can't let go of posting even if they don't hold any shares. I think you will find that Ryanair never cancelled any flights in and out of Rhodes and have continued flying back and forth throughout. I think their logic has been that it is not the full of Rhodes that has suffered forest fires and therefore there are plenty of places on the island that still provide safe refuge. Even though in the main they only sell flights there is a lot of sense in the argument. Press sensationalism hasn't helped. For instance "Forest fires in Italy" might put people off flying to Italy. However it's not the full of Italy that is affected. Where specifically should be the question.

Anyway TUI should get back to normal either tomorrow or Saturday and hopefully if we cancelled any flights or package holidays, we have managed to rearrange them.
