Kelso have exposure over 8 million shares in THG, not 6 Million.
5 Million shares bought at 54.5p and two tranches of CFD's amounting to 3 million shares. Total average is 61p.
How they exert influence or pressure is through the calibre of those involved in many years of running successful businesses and by working with the management (for the time being). They have reviewed the business and provided their own synopsis on what needs to be done to enhance and further enhance value, and they repeat and support the good work done by publishing it in RNS format or Linkedin and they also provide a lot of supplementary material themselves in support of the undervaluation of the Sum of Parts.
All companies have to start somewhere and with small pots to start with. If this was number 3 or number 5 on their Active Investor list then I expect you would be getting close to somewhere between £60M and £125M to invest, possibly more - and a whole different share price.
You need to read their presentation on the other Companies Act levers that they also have available and maybe research what BOO have just done at REVB. John Goold probably being the ideas man behind that. Same one that is the head honcho at Kelso.
